Introduction
Having a fulfilling life is not necessarily defined by the level of achievement attained at a time but rather how satisfied a person is with the direction of his or her life. A well-designed life incorporates of who we are, what we do, and what we believe all in alignment. The ability to answer the question, “How is the going?” tells the direction of a person’s life. To answer that question, people must examine their play, love, health, and work levels in life. This paper is an examination of my work view and life view.
Work View
My main purpose of working is to earn a living. However, I do other types of work that do not pay to convince other factors like being there for family and community. Work is for meeting existing needs which are either financial, spiritual, physical, or even emotional. Work means care, availability, necessity, and needs. Work means being there for people I care, thus being available. It also means meeting needs and necessities as well as showing love to my loved ones. Work may be a necessity to me but a requirement to the society. Society expects me to work, either earning or not because in one way or another working is contributing to the growth of a society. Worthwhile work is work that achieves the purpose and brings satisfaction. A piece of work may not be complete, not extemporary done but meet the purpose and bring satisfaction. Money and work are closely associated. Indeed, whenever I hear about work, I think about whether it is paying or not and whether I would be missing a paying work by working on a non-paying job. Therefore, money is compensation for satisfactory work done to others, especially where there is an agreement of consideration. Experience, growth, and fulfillment have so much to do with work. Experience in work makes me achieve excellence in my level of work, which in return contributes to my growth especially in the amount of work I do and its results and the end achievement is fulfillment or satisfaction.
Life View
I am here because of the life decisions that I made and those that were made for me. Decisions I made include what I voluntarily decided to do or not do what I chose to love or hate, where I decided to work, and many others. However, there are decisions I did not make like the influence of an economy by a government I did not elect. The purpose of my life is to make the right decisions, influence people positively, being useful in society, loving myself as well as others, setting goals and achieving them, and growing the community and nation as well. Indeed, my life has many purposes. The relationship between me and others is the common interest to brighten our lives by working towards improving our lives. My family, country, and world fit in my life where I have to show care, meet cultural norms, and contribute to my growth because I can’t grow in an environment that is not growing. What is good is what brings the best out of me while the evil demotivates me or rather damages my progress in life. I believe in the existence of God as he is the guide of my life choices and direction. In my life, joy motivates me and gives me the desire to live for tomorrow, sorrow teaches me lessons, justice teaches me moral values, and injustice calls me to do the right thing. Love shows me the need to care for others, and peace teaches me the importance of mental health, and strife teaches me to work harder than before.
Conclusion
In conclusion, work is a partial fulfillment of life. My perspective of the need to work and the meaning of work closely relates to my view of the purpose of life. Working is an essential factor in a lifetime which influences how we live with other people. Moral values, beliefs, and cultural norms shape our lives.
