Global warming is the gradual increase in earth temperature over the past centuries due to air pollution, greenhouse effects, and also the omissions of carbon dioxide (CO2). Human beings have been reported to be the cause of global warming due to the activities such as industrialization thus the emission of gases like methane and carbon dioxide caused by burned fossils fuels, the emitted gas act like a blanket which traps the heat from the sun hence leading to the warming of the planet (Plimer &Plimer2009).

Global warming has led to increases in drought and flood hence posing a high risk to public health. This is so as the drought has led to inaccessibility of clean water leading to high death rate and lack of food in those dry areas. It has also led to the experience of extreme heat and the spread of fire, especially in the game park, due to this harsh climate extinction of wild animal due to migration and death. On the other hand, flood leads to life loss and also damage to properties. The flooded areas are too prompt to waterborne diseases like cholera and other diseases transmitted by insects like mosquitoes. Global warming has also led to a more acidic ocean because of toxic omissions, thus bringing about a severe threat to sea creatures, particularly those with calcium skeleton. Moreover, global warming has also led to an increase in sea levels; the hotter region becomes hotter while cold area becomes colder (Gore, 2006).

Ozone depletion is the breakdown of the ozone layer of the earth, which absorbs UV-B rays naturally; thus, the earth experienced more explores to UVB rays and less protection from the sun rays. Human activities are the primary cause of ozone depletion due to the use of chemicals like the Chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs) and halons. These compound breaks down to form chlorine and bromine atoms which destroy the ozone molecule in the stratosphere, and it can destroy ozone layers quicker than how it is created (Searles et al., 2001).

The depletion of ozone layer caused an increase UV-B rays which have a lot of impact to human beings like high risk of skin cancer, damage the skin, leads to mutation hence altering the DNA and may also lead to blindness because of too many direct lights. Additionally, UV-B rays have a negative impact on plants in that they decrease the growth of plants and lower the quality of the crops. These effects on plants also affect the respiration, decline in productivity of crops, photosynthesis, and also the carbon cycle. Additionally, UVB radiation cause damage to the developmental stages of marine animals like fish, and crab; these lead to a decrease in reproduction and prevent larval development. Exposure of UVB leads to the reduction of marine organism population, thus affecting the food chain of marine animals (Searles, Flint, & Caldwell, 2001).

Conclusion

Human activities are the leading cause of ozone depletion and also global warming, which cause damages like the extinction of certain plants and animals, rise in the sea levels and also agricultural changes activities. Thus the human activities should be restricted to ensure that the environment is protected especially from the harsh climate change due to climate changes.
