The gender-based violence has been considered as one of the world's most significant menace to the social and health wellbeing of the involved groups, especially the women who in most cases acts as the victims of the gender-based violence. In this regard, the men and boys are considered as the ones who are perpetrating violence against women and girls respectively, because they are vulnerable and are easily susceptible to the effects of violence, and especially in the situations where there are no immediate or lack of proper ways in which they are to be curbed to prevent their further effects in the future. The presence of gender-based violence is a clear indication that both the masculinity and femininity are entirely rooted in the societies across the world, whereby the males are focused at maintaining their statuses as being the rulers and thus cannot bow down to any pressure which can put women in the situations that can be considered as superior to them. There are also various factors that contribute to the existence of gender-based violence, the steps to offset them, as well as the resistance experienced when the gender-based violence is being subdued, and they are as brought out in the subsequent paragraphs.
First, gender-based violence is fueled by the existence of the traditional norms which are inherited down through generations. In this regard, most communities across the world have been holing beliefs which in the long run are not fair for both the ales and the females, The females are considered as inferiors on many occasions, with the males being recognized as the ones who need to be given all the privileges as opposed to the girl child and the females in general. The females are also encouraged to submit to any directives by the males. Which in the long run permits the males to wedge anything on women on the grounds of superiority, that can also go unpunished. Also, the males can go to the extent of practicing sexual violence which ruins the lives of the victims. Hence it can be observed that the cultural norms in most societies serve to promote gender violence.
There is also an aspect of gender inequality which is looming across the world. The males are given better positions in society as opposed to the females. In this way, the males are treated as unique and have the right to many above posts and activities as opposed to the females who can be considered as having fewer rights to transact some businesses. It brings about a picture in which the males find themselves as even having the rights to preside over the females, which can also the extent to the practices of gender violence in extreme cases. It can, therefore, be seen that gender-based violence can be imposed by the existing gender inequalities across the world.
There are measures which can be used to curb gender-based violence. One of them involves the use of the male inclusion mechanism since they are the ones wedging violence against women. In this regard, they are sensitized on the importance of keeping peace and dignity on one another, where they can also view the females as part of the society and with the rights to be treated well too. They can be reached out by the use of a strategic team composed of ambassadors. However, such plans can face some resistance in the event the communities much believe in male superiority, hence failing in the long run.
Conclusion
Cumulatively, the gender-based violence is a menace caused by some factors as mentioned above. However, it can be phased out amidst some resistance as clearly brought out.
