Introduction
This will be fundraising held at the AJGA's headquarters in the month of 30th June, whereby all the American junior golfers, the stakeholders, and supporters will be involved in the event. The organization of this event has been because of AJGA's need to support as many youths as possible who have talents in golf playing and make them realize their dreams. As a result of this, a lot of financial support is required to ensure that this plan is effectively achieved. Additionally, the junior golfers are scholars, and they mostly require upkeep and support to help clear their school levies since most of them come from very poor backgrounds, and others have no close relatives to assist them in getting the basic needs. All the above made the stakeholders see a sense of planning this fundraising event and inform other organizations, fans, and friends so that they can help to sponsor the organization and assist it in actualizing its vision and mission by raising many junior golfers to competent players who will place America at a higher level of performance in golf.
Purpose and Goals of the Event
As stated earlier, the purpose will be to raise funds to support the junior golfers who come from poor backgrounds. The collected money will be used to facilitate them in terms of upkeep, school fees since most of them are schooling and then give them some little appreciation when they take part in competitions or rather tournaments. The goal is to raise over $ 1,000,000, which is a good amount for the successful accomplishment of the plans of the American Junior Golfers Association. However, the main goal is to see many junior golfers raised to become what they want and achieve as much as they can both in education and the talent they have as far as playing golf is concerned. It will also be a way to catch the attention of other youths who may be having a similar talent, but they have had no idea of where to begin. This will make them get the interest and begin pursuing their talents; thus, there will be reduced involvement of youths in criminal activities because they will have no reason to stay idle.
The Target Population
This fundraising event targets all the AJGA supporters and stakeholders, the fans of AJGA, supporters, and all other golf organizations found in the United States. This population also includes the well-wishers from other regions of the world who would like to take part in the event and support AJGA in its effort to nurture as many golfers as possible and see their lives get better due to proper utilization of their talents. The population targeted is more than 500,000 people from all parts of America and over 100 golf organizations. The financial support from this population will be sufficient to help AJGA in the realization of its plan.
Marketing and Advertising
Before the actual day of the fundraising, there is a need to create awareness among the people so that they can know well and prepare themselves well for the event. Social media platforms like Facebook, instagram, will be used to advertise the event. This will be done by the stakeholders and the supporters of AJGA so that they can invite their close friends to the event for financial support during the actual fundraising day. The advert will also be placed in the media like radios and televisions which are known to reach as many people as possible, and thus it will be easy to get the target population informed. Additionally, other media channels like newspapers and magazines will be used for advertising the event. There are a lot of people who visit AJGA's website a single day; thus, the advertisement will also be placed on the website so that those who visit the website can be informed of the upcoming event.
Nature of the Event
The event will be conducted as a tournament, which will be a competition of the AJGA's stakeholders and the junior golfers, whereby all the invited groups of people or organizations will be the spectators. After the tournament, then the fundraising will be held within the premises of AJGA, and all the supporters will be required to give their contributions towards helping the organization achieve its plans to support the junior golfers and nurture their talents. Therefore the nature of the event will be a tournament followed by the fundraising afterward in the later hours.
Organizational and Staffing Arrangements
The organizational and staffing arrangements which have already been made to aid the success of this fundraising event are that all the stakeholders in AJGA will act as ushers on that specific day of the fundraising. They will offer the visitors with any assistance and facilitation which they will require. Moreover, they will be expected to be on the frontline to give their contributions to the event and urge their friends to support them. In other words, they will be the planners of the event and the players of all major roles before the other groups can be involved in the event.
Financial Arrangements (Expenses and Sources of Revenue)
The success of this event requires around $100,000 for the preparation of the activities, advertisement of the event through media, and other miscellaneous, which may occur during the event. The source of revenue that will be used to collect this amount will be internal sales being done in AJGA during the golf competitions before the event day comes.
