Introduction

By definition, dissemination refers to the practice of distributing information using specific intervening materials to the clinical audience or public health operators. Melnyk and Fineout-Overholt (2018) stated that the central aim of dissemination is to spread awareness concerning the evidence-based interventions in a given geographical location, practice centers, or social networks that typically connects patients and their respective healthcare providers. In this study, poster presentations, publications among other peer-review journals were selected as a few dissemination strategies.

Most Inclined Dissemination Strategies

I prefer to utilize poster presentations or the unit level presentations as first prioritized choices. In support, the usage of posters is a popular form of giving presents that researchers, scholars, and clinical vignettes have used in the past. Moreover, their usage of visuals and texts makes it easier to make critical communications. Besides, poster presentations usually allow for a one on one interaction between the users and interested viewers in an informal manner. This enables the parties to easily exchange ideas and create network opportunities, which is not found in other strategies (Gallagher-Ford et al., 2011).

The integration of the two strategies also makes it easier to address issues that are hindering a particular unit. As a result, most challenges can be handled at their levels. Furthermore, this indicates that contexts that are afflicted with evidence-based interventions must be given higher considerations, to identify each unit, and to align its similar challenges. To promote efficiency and effectiveness of the entire process, various stakeholders should be involved in different groups, to improve the quality of the outcome. Therefore, it is vital to note that unit-level type of presentations is essential in eliminating uncertainties during the evidence-based practice interventions.

The Least-Inclined Dissemination Strategies

Well, I would consider research journals and the podium presentations as the least-inclined strategies. To support this statement, one must acknowledge the fact that research journals are only useful for small audiences when it is internationally recommended that research should cover a broader audience of patients to limit the potential outcome errors. Therefore, such a study is only beneficial to the academic community, but not the general public. Besides, it is difficult to host audiences in a podium, as researchers are usually invited only during specific occasions such as conferences (Gallagher-Ford et al., 2011). However, effective dissemination for an evidence-based practice requires consistent interaction with the audience.

Barriers Associated With the Implementation of Dissemination Strategies

The organizational culture diversity and time constitutes the significant obstacles faced when implementing either the unit level or poster presentations. For instance, culture possesses a significant impact on the decision-making process and the sharing of information within an organization set-up. Cultural diversities may include health workers with different ideologies, beliefs, and traditions, creating a persistence resistance to the evidence-based results or findings. This inhibits the implementation of unit-level engagement activities and decisions (Melnyk et al., 2011). Also, the preparation of the posters would require specific knowledge, skills, and resources; hence its creation may be time-consuming.

How to Overcome the Barriers?

As a recommendation, the health care providers must ensure that they provide evidence-based facts. Perhaps, organizations which offer support to the culture of evidence-based practices will aspire to assist whenever a piece of evidence that will impact its society is presented. The stakeholders within an organization would use the facts submitted to evaluate the research and identify the mistakes involved, instead of offering criticism to the entire process and project team (Melnyk et al., 2011). Besides, such organizations would utilize more skilled workers to reduce the poster creation time. Having a knowledgeable recruitment team would help an organization to have experienced health workers who can engage in the implementation of the evidence-based practices, using the least amount of time, and still maintaining the quality standards of the process.
