In a newspaper article written by the Canadian Press on April 6th, 2016, a criminal law story was discussed on how a ten-year-old boy was shot in Toronto. The article can be categorized as a criminal law and a public law too. The article reports that the ten-year-old Toronto boy was shot by a stray bullet when he was at his home. Reports of the shooting were reported later where the police found the boy having serious wounds on the shoulder ("10-Year-Old Boy Shot In Toronto"). The incident of the ten-year-old boy being shot was one of the three incidents that had happened within hours of each other. The first shooting took place at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and an hour later, one person known to the police died after a second shooting.
In the Canadian news the star.com, an article on how a stepmother got a life sentence after a teen was found murdered in a suitcase. The article can be categorized as criminal law and in the subcategory of family and private law. The article indicates that the body of the teen, whose name was Melonie Biddersingh was found in a burning piece of luggage (Hasham and Reporter "Stepmother Gets Life Sentence in Suitcase Murder, No Parole For At Least 16 Years | Toronto Star). The stepmother was sentenced to life imprisonment with no possibility of parole for the murder of her stepdaughter.
In the Huffington Post Canada, an article on law issues written on May 30th 2016; it indicated that people that we love are capable of doing terrible things. The article can be categorized as family law and private law because it focuses on the relationships between two people. The article indicates that loving someone does not mean they wont show you the darkest part of themselves. As much as people like to trust their guts and believe in their friends, they can still disappoint them (Scholars the truth is, People You Love Are Capable of Shitty Things)
In another situation involving Johnny Depp in domestic violence and abuse his fans could not believe. Although it was known that it happened, people like Dough Stanhope claimed that a vengeful wife was manipulating depp. The fact remaining is domestic abusers might not have best of friends that care for him, but Depp had because he was a celebrity (Scholars the truth is, People You Love Are Capable of Shitty Things). People love blindly and they forget that as much as they are their siblings or their favorite actor, they can still do terrible things like cheating on their spouses, commit sexual violence acts and other terrible things.
An article on Canadian news written by Mark Towhey can be categorized as criminal law under the subcategory of private law. The article identifies the growing Distrust that Threatens Policing and Empowers Criminals. The article identifies the fight that exists between the police forces and the corporate lives (Towhey Growing Distrust Threatens Policing and Empowers Criminals). The police chiefs are not putting a lot of efforts in winning the fights, therefore leaving the criminals to emerge as winners. In the past, the post of a chief police was respected, although it didnt pay much and it involved a low level of education, they felt safe. It is not the same anymore and a lot changed along the way. The article indicates that the police were distrusted and people stopped cooperating with them for investigation.
The distrust made their job to be more challenging every day and the whole community became suspicious. Police service now faces the same crisis, although there are few institutions to help them deal with the issues. An example a city in Canada called Toronto, where there are 2.8 million people; there is no trust to the police. The police started to become a para- militia and they became activists riding the wave of heroism (Towhey Growing Distrust Threatens Policing and Empowers Criminals). The people of Toronto lack faith in the police system such that when they see a police officer wrestling with a liquor man, they become suspicious of who is right, they dont see the police as their protector and this makes the criminals take advantage
