Introduction
In the current economic crisis, it is critical that social workers understand the effect of financial insufficiencies relative to the welfare of the people that they serve. Social workers play a significant role in helping their clients solve complicated issues that result from economic policies (Goldthorpe, 2017).
The effectiveness of the services provided will diminish if service providers are not knowledgeable about policies that have an impact on their clients. When employees are knowledgeable about the services that they deliver, they own it, and it becomes part of their daily routine (Goldthorpe, 2017). As such, when providing a service, the motivation to work comes from the intrinsic. Therefore, if service providers lack knowledge about the services they provide, then they cannot deliver quality services to the clients.
Practitioners can help their clients to become economically stable by equipping them with practical skills that can be used to work and earn an income. Also, practitioners can train their clients on better resource management, such as finances to help them make proper use of the available monetary resources (Goldthorpe, 2017). Moreover, practitioners can assist their clients in catering for basic needs such as housing, food, and clothing to enable them to invest their resources in other viable economic activities.
A spiritually rich person has a connection with God and thus manifests the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5 verse 22 says that spiritually rich people reveal the fruits of the spirit such as love, peace, joy, gentleness, goodness, faith, self-control, and meekness (Version, 2017). Spiritually poor people do not have a connection with God. Thus they do not have the fruits of the Holy Spirit. On the contrary, spiritually poor people manifest the works of the flesh such as adultery, fornication, strife, witchcraft, strife, seditions, and heresies.
One can increase spiritual wealth by developing a connection to God through prayers and reading the Bible. The Bible provides various texts to show how one can become rich in the spirit (Version, 2017). A spiritually, wealthy individual thinks about the needs of others. He/she enjoys to uplift others, bless others, and witness about what God has done to them.
Conclusion
Social workers should understand the policies and the nature of their work to deliver quality services to their clients. A spiritually rich person shows the fruits of the Holy Spirit, which help him/her to relate well with others. One can enhance his/her spiritual wealth by reading the word of God and living a prayerful life. The Christian values develop from the Bible help one deliver holistic services to clients.
