Introduction
Community healthcare plays a critical role in ensuring that safety and proper administration of medication are done in a conducive and organized manner. Whereas the healthcare officials play a crucial role in the community, they are subjected to an array of numerous factors that gradually reduce their productivity. On the contrary, they are also subjected to boredom, job fatigue, which has critically increased the need for concern regarding their performance and competence. The US government has been faced with growing demands for healthcare, reduced resources, and increasing deterioration in healthcare due to the increasing overworking of healthcare. Never the less, the community healthcare practitioners have a critical role to play on enabling managers, practitioners, and the policy-makers to extensively identify those in need for change in the healthcare sector through increasing resources to improve their performance in the healthcare sector. The essay will critically explain distinctive concepts through which should be adopted to mitigate the current situation in the healthcare setting.
Problems
Healthcare has become one of the most significant and essential elements in our society, yet despite their rewording efforts to provide healthcare in our community, they are pushed beyond their limits, which is significantly affecting their performance. For instance, one of the common causes of job fatigue in the healthcare sector is the nursing burnout, which has subjected many workers into emotional and psychological torture, affecting their performance. According to Ames, Margaret, et al., (P 5), job burnout in the nursing healthcare sector is portrayed using distinctive elements such as having difficulties in starting the shift or going to work. On the contrary, job burnout is caused by prolonged working hours with little break, which has completely cut off most of the healthcare staff members from their social life.
On the contrary, the continuous and prolonged working within the same environment has increased the rate of boredom. According to Sinclair, Shane, et al, (p 8) observation, healthcare workers take longer to get promoted than any average worker across the work. Even though it is argued that healthcare workers require a critical and millimeter precision in their work, this has increased the boredom of workers, as it takes longer to get a promotion, or job transfers. Even though monotony at work has played a critical role in ensuring that workers have a solid grip on their field, healthcare workers lack skills in the advancing technological world, which is affecting them, when it comes to the implementation of new computer systems in their working places.
Countermeasures
The increasing demand for safer healthcare services is essential in ensuring that patients receive the highest degree of medical services. As a way of ensuring that healthcare services are performed with greater precision, it is critical to address the ailing factors that are undermining the performance of the workers. For instance, job fatigue and burnout are as a result of prolonged working and extended working shifts. However, it is essential to consider increasing the number of workers to meet the required number of staff members per turn, which will help reduce the working hour. According to Nolte, Anna GW, et al, (P 76), the increase of staff members within a healthcare facility plays a critical role in lowering job fatigue, as workers have reduced working hours, which increases their productivity.
Secondly, monotony in the healthcare sector has risen over the years, which has reduced the productivity of staff members (Lim, Mei Ling, et al., 28). However, the adoption of the promotion of workers has a higher potential of increasing the productivity of workers, which will increase the commitment of the employees in the sector.
Lastly, boredom has been ushered in by the prolonged working environment with little improvement in the environment (Johnston, Derek W., et al., 52). As a result, workers are subjected to a routine working environment, which does not get constant changes, hence increasing the levels of boredom. As a result, it is essential to have numerous job transfers to help healthcare workers explore different working environments, and increase their productivity.
Conclusion
In the bottom line, healthcare workers have ensured safe working conditions, which is increasing despite working in deteriorating conditions, that are increasing suffering. The prolonged working shifts and reduced number of staff members in the healthcare sector have paved the way for increased job fatigue. On the contrary, monotonous working has increased boredom, which is rising lower productivity rates of the workers. However, despite the widespread problems in the sector, it is essential to increase the number of staff members to reduce prolonged shifts. As a result, this reduced fatigue and boredom of workers.
