Introduction

Child abuse is a vice that encompasses today's society. It is a phenomenon that has to be checked over even though measures are in place. Child abuse comes in three forms: emotional, sexual and physical. However, looking at sexual abuse, a child will be affected physically and emotionally. Distress and posttraumatic are some of the emotional hardships that an abused child is likely to undergo.

It has been a debate on whether child molesters should be punished or treated fairly, some take a firm stand on severe punishment while others prefer having them treated on a fair note. I think they should be punished but also care should be taken as these same molesters were once children who were in need of protection and if punished severely they may end up as child molesters in the future.

If one cannot stop abusing children sexually, then the person should be barred from doing so. It will be safer to have such a person behind bars for their entire lives, if necessary, to protect the children from sexual abuse. If for instance they cannot be rehabilitated. If they are not mentally fit or not, having them behind bars makes sense.

Victims of molestation never report such cases for fear of shame from the public. They end up living with the suffering for the rest of their lives. The society never gets to take this matter seriously as it is a reference of shame. In most cases, the child does not think that what happened is wrong. This is the reason children do not tell other adults about sexual abuse. The fear, hatred and shaming attitude that the society shows to child abusers' is what leads to the development of child molestation. (Jenny, C. 2011).

The more we tend to punish severely the molesters' and make it their fault, the less control we have over the problem. The more we lose control over it, the angrier we get. The angrier we become, the less we want to tackle the problem. It has been one of the vicious cycles that keep child molestation alive.

Pedophiles' find it hard to come by their behavior, rehabilitation centers have been set up to help such people not to return to social life with the same mentality. Some of them are unable to stop themselves from molesting children, this then makes sense to have them locked up in jail forever if necessary to prevent them from molesting children. Therefore, would suggest that we deal with child molestation directly and maturely to solve this deafening monster of a problem thoroughly and adaptively. Convicted child molesters

Convicted child abusers should be restricted from informing all their social partners of their crimes as this may lead to society neglecting them. Society has always taken child molestation as a taboo and therefore having them to tell on their crime may lead to shame. Informing on their crimes may translate to neglect and not respected by people.

Having a child molester watch over small children is a time ticking bomb. This is because Pedophiles can never be trusted as they find it hard to control their sexual feelings. I would suggest that they should never be left under the care of any child as that would be very dangerous. Mothers should be careful to leave their kids with babysitters whom they can fully trust with their kids' safety. Child molestation is a dangerous situation, and every mother should be watchful not to leave her children with someone who might end up exposing them to such dangers. (KAWAA-MAFIGIRI, D. A. V. I. D. 2017).

Children sexually abused often go through mental health problems such as posttraumatic stress disorder, depression and problems in learning such as inattention and difficulties in problem-solving. Shame and sense of neglect amongst peers also come as a challenge. The mother of the abused child suffers from lack of concentration and proper parenting to nature the child to adapt to the environment and the social life. Shame also comes as a challenge.

Reporting the matter to the police is a good move as this will help the mother get justice from the abuser and also the child will get medical attention through counseling. Although the same case also would mean taking the matter public which may have them feel ashamed and also neglect from the public. The child experiences posttraumatic disorder in the long run and also increased the risk for the psychiatric disorder, substance abuse, severe medical illness and lower economic productivity.

Conclusion

In summary, child molestation is a vice that overtime has caused much distress among families as this is a vice that the society portrays as a taboo. Long the child abusers' have been brutally punished, but today research has shown that this issued need to be handled carefully to avoid or put a dead end to child molestation in the future.
