Automated motors are expected to close down in the North American region. These factories are dedicated to the making of engine parts together with the maintenance of cars. I am sure that you know about the coronavirus outbreak, which has affected these factories heavily. Neal explains the main reason for this companies closure, stating that the fear of the spread of the virus among the employees intensified with one of them testing positive. Neal says that, with pressure from the United Auto Union, factories are expected to be closed for at least a week. Neal goes ahead, explaining the effect of this closure on small-related companies saying they will also close.
Neal then explains its effects on the economy. Closing down of these companies is undoubtedly followed by loss of jobs and idleness. The economy is expected to drop drastically following the measure taken. With people idling, salaries are to be affected, as some will only get a portion of it. He also says that ford employees that have worked at least a year will get 75% of their salary. Neal says that ford, gm, and fiat Chrysler will close their factories for at least a week. Honda is also expected to close and resume in a week. Neal says, Nissan will close down until April. It is a massive blow to the company has over 1.3 million people work for these companies.Neal also explains that due to coronavirus, customers are afraid to get to these shops due to social distancing. It has lowered the sales rate reducing the income made from the company. During this period of a pandemic, people are staying indoors, reducing movement and use of cars. Renders the factories useless, as they get no income. Neal says, the companies tried to keep their employees safe, but it did not work out. A few numbers are still taking their cars for maintenance, although the number is expected to reduce. With pressure from U.A.W, the three companies closed on Tuesday. Honda then released its announcement about the company stopping production. Neal, however, states that a few hours later, the three companies decided to idle their factories. He says that the electric carmaker in California reduced a considerable number of their employees instead of closing down.
In my view, the shutting down of these factories has drastically affected the employees and the income rate of the factories negatively, with the economy dropping. In my opinion, the article was well drafted out. Neal clearly explains the reasons for factories shutting down using clear explanations and speeches. In my opinion, closing down of factories is the best decision to be made. All the workers are protected too, and keeping the factories running puts them all in danger. It also prevents customers from visiting the stores, thus reducing the rate of getting sick. With low income due to a lack of customers, it is reasonable to close down to avoid significant losses in the factories. In my opinion, this will ease the spread of the virus. However, this will drop the nation's economy and take the companies steps behind.
