A college is a perfect place in which individuals get an opportunity to learn and secure a degree in the professions in which they feel best suits them. However, college as an institution requires money to run, and for that matter, it is costly especially those colleges considered top notch. This brings out the debate whether we should make public colleges free and make the level playing level for all those seeking to take their degrees.

Why we should make college education free

A college is a place where people sharpen their skills, and with the enormous costs, most students struggle to meet their needs and thus engage in ensuring that they get jobs while studying and thus do not concentrate on their education (Kuh 2011.).

Ethos

In the current day, the college education is a necessity, and thus we should consider it affordable instead of teaching students who just want to make degrees without seeing the value of their skills (Hamel 2013). It is also an excellent way of solving the issue to needy studies who faced financial problems in high school. Why make their lives harder. Free college in this instance is what these young adults, therefore, we as taxpayers should not feel aggrieved when we help our children. Lest you forget, education is what this country to avoid much unemployment issue resulting from poor qualifications as result of dropping out of college. Students in college who are needy face these problems and if you have gone to college, you will understand this better. Therefore, it is a good thing if we made sure that education in college is free.

Pathos

Most of us have gone to college, and if were not needy it is either you must have a poor student in your class. The life of these students is very, and many other cases of students who are independent bring out why the necessity to scrap college being a splendid idea. Suffering while studying for your degree is unacceptable and why should they be subjected when in all honesty this can be solved by making it free of all. It is common to every family that they would support this decision of making college through. Furthermore, students aid is not going to solve problems outside, and inside schools, as it is a burden to them, an example is with former college students struggling to pay this.

Logos

It has been on record that student loans in America have skyrocketed with any of the graduates finding it very hard to repay their loans. The major fact here is that there are no jobs or the money for those employed is not able to sustain them, and thus they face difficulty. Poverty is now an issue in America, as most graduates who spent money a lot to gain education have nothing to show for it.

Why college education should not be free

On the contrary, some people think that the move to make college education free is backward move and will not be productive at all. According to (Company 2017), there is nothing like free college it is just shifting of the tuition costs for the college students to the USA taxpayers. Furthermore, colleges will become full if we are to make it free make it congested resulting in the increased number of students in the independent colleges. This leads to straining of the facilities and rise in costs to the taxpayer who is overburdened with other responsibilities

Ethos /

It is very insincere to champion free education at the expense of the taxpayer burdened with lots of responsibilities in a tough economy. Free education an expensive thing and everyone knows this, as parents, we may think we need this free education, but we must think of its impact on us. Free education has many inconveniences, which makes it inappropriate for the current present situation. We all know that the cost increases from time to time and for that matter it is unnecessary to pretend that this will not jeopardize our normal day-to-day activities. Everyone should work hard pay to use his/her college aid well after that look for a job. Free things are a recipe for disaster and academic laziness.

Pathos

We all know education is a great deal, but do we want to make it free and make students lazy and irresponsible only because the government pays their tuition fee. In fact, many of our students are sure are going to engage in drugs and other non-school activities simply because the government pays. We are all aware of the plight of former college students struggling to pay their college loans. It is like transferring problems from one place to another, and thus we are not solving anything. Citizens it is of no use trying to train many people whereas there is no place for them to work in thus let us make education remain as it is.

Logos

Free education is detrimental to the quality of college education offered to the students, this according to statistical in California where they failed badly from giving free education as a result of massive costs emanating from the influx of students. It is also a fact that the quality of education drastically went down as result of this. Furthermore the fact that they got free tuition they still went ahead to drop out of school showing lack of seriousness in what they do. Major setbacks also have been witnessed showing that students from public high schools are less likely to graduate compared to their counterparts in better schools.

In conclusion, we can say college education being free is a complicated situation, which requires to undertaken into from different angles not just from the needy students perspective. We, however, acknowledge that there are needy students who need loans but a consistent system is necessary to ensure they get funding. However, giving free education is a complicated issue in that taxpayers are unwilling to fork out their cash to schools provided the enormous cost required in running them. Therefore, before we make college education, free various considerations require observation so that parties involved are satisfied with the decision arrived.
