Annotation: The source states the people's view on uniform requirements at school. The point is that uniform criteria tend to be an act of violating the rights of individual students since they are tied to the activities of the school. The heads of the school view uniform requirements as a means of making sure that all the students are equal under the institution, but it is a way of violating the rights of students and their freedom of expression. The case suggests that wearing uniforms to school does not allow for the importance of individuality. The students are not allowed to express themselves fully because they are obliged to comply with the rules and regulations of the institution. School uniforms should not be compulsory for students as they do not contribute a great deal to their performances. They need to be allowed to express themselves without fear. The source will help to build on my research of how school uniforms affect the freedom of speech. The source supports my argument that there is a need to allow students to feel free about their freedom of expression rather than constraining them leading to a lack of individuality. The source will build on the points that I will present by providing evidence from different situations.

Annotation 2: scholarly article 2

The article suggests the violations of students' rights in schools. The discussion shows school discrimination against the black girls from the case study of a school in Pretoria where they protested against the school's code of conduct regarding hairstyle. The claim from the black girls was that they were discriminated against. The main idea from the source is that the implementation of school uniforms is doing more harm than good because of the violation of rights. The topic leads to the general issue of school uniform policies that regard dress codes. The expectations are that these dress codes need to reduce the problems of school violence, prevent discipline problems and improve safety. Students have rights and freedoms, and the fact that the students respond negatively to school uniforms is to means that they need to do away with them. The source will help find perfect examples for inclusion in the research to add to my point of going against school uniforms.
