Marvell's poem "To His Coy Mistress", is widely regarded as one of his most iconic works. Marvell's poem "Metaphysical Poem" is an example of such a poem. He uses clever and witty language to express his thoughts. Marvell pleads with his mistress in this poem to give in to his passion and accept his love. He believes that time is fleeting, and they should seize the moment to enjoy their love before it is too late. Marvell makes his point using imagery. He states that "One hundred years should be spent to praise / Thine eyes and on thy forehead gaze;/ Two hundred shall adore each breast/ But thirty thousand shall rest." He is saying that he would spend all of the time admiring his mistress. But they need to act quickly or it will be too late.

Marvell's poem "The Garden", is another famous work. Marvell uses personification and imagery in this poem to describe a beautiful garden he has found. He is amazed at the beauty and peace it provides him. He expressed his desire to be one and all with the garden's beauty and said, "Heaven & earth doe so near conjoyne/ Here, they vie which shall most mine. Marvell's deepest desires and appreciation for nature are reflected in this line. He continues to express his admiration for the garden's beauty, and its ability to bring joy and peace to all who visit it.
