Women in the Justice System

The objective of creating this bibliography is to perform in-depth research on information about women in the justice system. The research will be useful to workers, policymakers and the general public. The basis of this research is to determine the complexities of female inmates. What make women offend? The factors behind women committing crime, ways of preventing criminal behavior and how best the justice system can work through reduction of recidivism rates in the society.

The research tries to explore the factors that are causing aggression among women to a point of increased violence. The risk factors that are discussed in the article are family violence, insufficient maternal relationships, and social deprivation. The report recommends preventive measures such as family care, non-authoritarian parenting, and provision of education.

This book performs research on women involved in the justice system in the US prisons. The book finds out social and political as a factor in promoting incarceration and criminal victimization of women. The studies point out that the crimes performed by women always have a cause. The effects of abuse on women forces them to develop survival tactics that at times land them in prison.

This article's objective is to study statistics on crimes among adolescents and the complexities that lead to crime among young girls. The author argues that justice can be served on women if a critical review is done by encouraging families to provide guidance and strong values to their children.

The article deal on the reason women are aggressive and concluded that the government has not provided enough resources to help women to recover from traumatization. The women who are supposed to have been assisted in recovering end up in prison for trying to adapt to survival skills in a bid to recover from abuse.

The research involved New Zealand women who at one point were incarcerated. The research established the experiences they faced in the justice system. The research also included female probation officers who had taken care of women offenders. The author after performing analysis concluded that women ended up in the wrong part of justice due to unwise decisions. It is found that women offended most of the time for reasons of survival rather than for excitement.

The increased number of women involved in delinquency and involvement with the justice prompted the research. Pasko research involved examination of womens history on delinquency with the evolution of the treatment methods. The article explains the unknown involvements that women had gone through with their victims. The author explores the trouble in which women went through till they find themselves in crime.

Acoca, L. (1999). Investing in Girls: A 21st-century strategy. Juvenile Justice, 6(1), 3-13.

Victimization is the main research objective of this article. The author argues that physical, emotional and sexual aspects be the main steps that women can go through to get justice. The article finds out on the reasons why womens delinquency rates have gone up. The reasons for the rise in delinquency include family fragmentation, health issues and academic failure at a young age. The interviewed carried by the National Council on Crime on women in the justice system concluded that services available to assist women were not sufficient. The author of this book agreed with recommendations that had been suggested by other researchers.

This project gives an insight into a project that was carried out in Baltimore (1992). The project focused on ways to deal with female delinquents. The article main focus was on the importance that inmates embrace staff training and good relations with women plays in ensuring justice. The results of the research established the needs that women custody for them to feel that justice has been served. Most of the inmates cited training and career enrichment as a source of justice they can receive from the society.

Conclusion.

The source have some connection for instance most of the researches stated that women inmates found themselves in jail due to them trying to develop survival skills. The survival tactics were develop due to abuses that were laid on these women. The sources are valuable for use by other students since all the sources aims at explaining the position of women in the justice system and why they end up on the wrong side of justice. Daniel M.D in his journal gives some of measures that can be done to improve the position of women in justice system.
