The question about the pain that is inflicted in animals for humans to enjoy them for a meal has been a difficult one to answer and very complex as it is a mental experience which no one can be able to understand at which level of pain each animal goes through (David Foster, 2005). Answering this question might be different according to different people's cultures and believes, which might also be personal. I think it is ethical to eat meat when prepared in the right way, which differs from that of different people.

There are different ways to kill an animal to prepare a meal from it, while others are used alive like the case of lobsters. My argument will rely on the bible and the Christianity belief though it does not state how different animals should be cooked; it agrees that it is a God-given right for humans to consume meat from certain animals (Rebekah, 2020). Most animals that are consumed are already dead at the time they are being prepared by slaughtering or suffocation in cases of fish. There is the right way to slaughter an animal that is less painful because it puts them to death in a faster way, according to scientific research. Meat is essential food, and there are different parts of the world where they depend on it as their basic food due to different environmental changes, which supports the point that it is ethical to consume it.

With the demand of meat all around the world calls for the demand to kill them. Most people are disturbed by the way it is done, but still like it is carried out anyway (Michael, 2009). Some individuals get disturbed so much by the nature of which the animals are killed and become vegetarians meaning that they never consume any meat at all (Michael, 2009).

The marine zoologists say it takes 35 to 45 seconds for the lobsters to die in boiling water (David Foster, 2005). People tend to try the fastest way that could kill an animal when preparing a meal from it, meaning that they know they subject the animal through pain and try to minimize the period in which it goes through it. Most people never usually think about killing the animal, but it becomes very problematic to those who think about (Michael, 2009). Others feel it normal as it is an act that has been carried out for a very long time, born into it. According to the meat industry, they try as much to hide facts about the slaughter floor, which they believe is inhuman because most people would stop eating it when they know what happens (Michael, 2009). I think almost everybody, if not everybody that consumes meats, only knows that the animal has to be killed that they might not have a clear picture of how.

Conclusion

What is morally wrong or right depending on where one generates his beliefs from and how the culture around him states? As stated earlier from the Christian beliefs, it is right to consume meat, as it was a source of food that was granted to humankind from God, but we should also take good care of them, protect them and also feed them (Rebekah, 2020). There are right ways that are there to lessen the pain that the animals might experience and are the ones that should be followed and exhibited in other ways might be torturous and unethical.
