Introduction
In every 21st Century event, women are recognized as a significant, and an integral part of society. A lot of women have achieved great things like fighting poverty, fight against gender violence, women empowerment movements, and this has moved the history of women forward. The modern generation gets a lot of inspiration from these women, and they express their views without fear just like these role models. In the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom, women history activities occur annually in March. During the same moth on 8th, the women and their achievements are celebrated internationally, and this shows that women play a very significant role in the society, making the world a better place to live (Norton et al., 2018).In the women history month, people participate in various activities like taking part in movements against gender violence as a way of celebrating women history.
The Origin of Women's History Month Activities
Most of the greatest women of the went through rough experiences in their lives especially gender discrimination. Women were seen as weak people in ancient times, but this has changed in modern society. In a specific province in the Philippines, a couple gets into marriage as per their parents wishes to continue and strengthen the two family ties. As life goes on the couple fell in love and had children. Fortunately or unfortunately all the five children were girls, and this made the extended family unhappy. These girls were discriminated, and they were not recognized as an essential part of the family, and the reason was that they could not bring continuity of the family name. The last born called Lakshmi was very strong, and she decided to fight for her right and the right of the sisters. When their father is forced to marry a second wife to bear a male child, Lakshmi becomes her mother's strength. She fights for her mothers right as the first wife. When the second wife gets a son the five women to join hands in getting back what the family robbed them as women (Betiyaan 1). These women become an inspiration characters oh Hindi community till today, and their history is even taught in the classroom
In earlier times, a lot of female students went through sexual harassment through their first and second year on campus. Due to fear they were not able to inform the school discipline department or the authorities instead they suffered alone with this secret, In today's time, this is not the case because certain women stepped up and decided to fight against this. It is because of these strong characters that today every female student can feel a sense of belonging and equality throughout their college life and they can fight for their rights without fear.
Women's History Month Activities. In every nation men and women have worked in unison in moving the nation forward. The women have started movements and organization that are crucial foundation of the country social, political and economic development. These women have received awards for their high achievement, and their work is highly recognized by the world. A Kenyan woman called Wangari Maathai won a Nobel Prize for the conservation of the environment through the Green Belt Movement. The month of the match presents an excellent opportunity to take part in different activities for the historic celebrations. During this month people participate in various activities in honor of these women. There is the planting of trees and cleaning of the environment in honor of women who played a more significant role in the conservation of our surroundings. The students initiate projects that involve reading books about these great women, and they also write journals and articles about them which display them as world heroines. A great way of celebrating women history is by doing acts of kindness especially to girls, and this betrays the character and value of being a woman women get a chance to express their ideas through this activities and find their voice (Christine et al., 2018).
These activities provide platforms for women to practice their leadership skills and show their ability to the whole worldThe girls form groups to cover songs that demonstrate the power of a woman for example Girl on Fire By Alicia Keys. Singing this song brings satisfaction to their soul, and they realize how much being a woman means. Women create their empowering statements as a way of celebrating their gender, and this statement makes them feel fulfilled. These activities are not just about women who made history but also about those who are making it, and they use this opportunity to mentor young girls who aspire to be like them(Margaret et al., 2018). It is at the moments that women share their stories about how they got where they are and despite all the difficulties. Women make groups where they give funds and visit less for nut women with private facilities and involve them in their other activities for the rest of the month.
Conclusion
The month of March is significant for all women in the world. And women take part in different activities that empower a girl child to find her voice, become confident as see herself as a great leader of the society. These activities allow women to celebrate themselves and other heroines "Sheroes" in the world (Readdy et al., 2018). Every woman in the world should participate in these activities as a way of showing they embrace and love feminity and that they celebrate themselves and other women of the world.
