Introduction
I attained extensive knowledge in computer science after pursuing my undergraduate degree at State University. I learned cybersecurity which included monitoring and mitigating attacks and managing intrusions. The course also covered searching for vulnerabilities and risks in hardware and software. However, computer science is a broad course, and I did not find a specific niche to focus on while doing my undergraduate degree. I, however, honed my skills in communication, analytics, ability to focus, and being organized. I will specialize in Information systems security and expand my knowledge in the program at the University College of Business. I chose to specialize in this program so that I can apply information systems in knowledge management at organizations.At the University College of Business, I would be a perfect fit for the information systems program as I have a passion for seeking information and using it to develop solutions. I specifically choose the information systems program as it would help me accomplish my short-term goal of getting an internship. Getting into an internship program is a short-term goal where I will learn to develop my skill in information systems and apply the knowledge I learned about cybersecurity during my undergraduate course. I would also be able to understand how a set of information can be used to support a specific task or decision. An internship will help me have hands-on experience in the field to get significant experience. I would further develop competency in computer hardware and software systems, telecommunications, databases, and human resources.
As an intern, I can assist in improving organizational strengths and weaknesses. Knowledge of information systems can be helpful in determining which areas of the company are succeeding and which ones need improving. Managing information security will provide the organization with information on areas such as raw material costs, performance management, labor, and turnover budget. The management can, therefore, focus efforts in the areas that may be needed to recover their performance.
The information systems program would help me accomplish my long-term goal of getting high-quality employment in the field of information systems. My long-term goal is to build a strong foundation for the security of information systems. In extension, I would help the organization I will be working with enhancing security for their information systems. Information systems are crucial for knowledge management. Historically, organizations have gathered information through the trial and error method. One of my long-term goals will be to use my knowledge of information systems to assists organizations in providing decision making data. I hope to learned extensive knowledge of information systems so that I can apply it in an organization in knowledge management. Knowledge management uses information systems to create, capture, refine, and circulate information.
I would help the organization secure information systems to ensure operations in the information systems flow without glitches. This will be possible by giving back company feedback about its performance. Once an organization has an idea of where it stands, it will have an idea of what to do to meet its goals. For me to achieve this long-term goal, I will need to utilize all the available resources at the University College of Business. I would seek counsel from professionals and professors with extensive knowledge about information systems.
Conclusion
I expect graduate work will be demanding, challenging, but ultimately rewarding. However, I believe I will be a good fit for the University College of Business as graduate work will prepare me for the future challenges I will face. I would also be a good fit for the business college as it will help me achieve my career goals. Through college, I will get familiar with various businesses that can help in specializing the knowledge I will learn in information systems and applying it to the organizations. I can also help the College's administration in the areas of computer security I learned as a way of giving back. I will also learn from the institution how to apply my knowledge in information systems to business ventures. Through the information systems program, I hope to grow and learn as an individual and as a technical worker. I will be a good fit for the college to learn from an intellectual and a social point of view. I hope I will be allowed to grow on a professional and personal level at the University College of Business. I would be a good fit for the program having prior knowledge in cybersecurity which I can internalize when learning about information systems.Cite this page
