Introduction
HR of the Walmart store in Alabama was interviewed. The HR job emphasizes on the relationship between employee and staffing. The duties prescribed to the HR position encompasses the following: organizing new employee orientation, issuing HR advice to the management, interpretation of the HR policies and processes, facilitating and conducting hiring process and also addressing the employees' issues such as complaints, concerns, and questions (DeCenzo et al., 2016). Other significant roles include the following: development of various policies concerning HR and reporting to the management; legal compliance on HR issues, hiring and firing, overseeing the initiation of benefits and compensations of employees, issuance of Hr information and payroll systems; conducting training and development of the employees, enhancing effective employee relations, ensuring the safety of workplace and evaluating the performance of workers (Plakhotnik, 2017).
Before the interview, I had equipped myself with relevant facts regarding the qualifications of a successful HR professional some of which include the following: hold a masters degree in Human Resource Management or related field; five years experience in the HR position with a very competent firm; indicates ability to interact efficiently and effectively with others; fluency in English both written and spoken; effective communication, public speaking; possessing analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills. The individual must also be in a position to work under a highly competitive and challenging environment to enhance the adequate performance of the organization. The interviewee stated that the responsibilities of an HR professional are not limited to the one that is highlighted, and thus one has to be more productive, creative, and think in terms of the future. He said, "HR as a profession is constantly evolving, and one needs to keep in the pace and technology as well."
Basing my interview on the facts that I have earlier mention regarding the HR job description and qualification, the interview of the Hr professional became more concrete and was more inclined towards the perception on the HR professional on the various future trends regarding HR and how he can be a more productive and competent partner to the different businesses within the organization. An HR professional of the Walmart store in Alabama was interviewed to determine his perception of future trends in the HR field and his effectiveness as a partner within the company. The professional's responses were more comprehensive and consistent. The hr professionals shared some basic strategies and philosophies in the HR field; however, they differed in their views on the future trends in the area of Human Resource and their effectiveness as partners within their organizations (Johnson, 2018).
The professional has some personal features that enable him to feel that he is a competent partner to his organization. For instance, he suggests that he is intrinsically driven to be productive in the field, thus contributing to the general operations of the firm. HR feels that he does not have to be pushed to do his best but feel as partners of the company and thus obliged to produce to the best of his interests. As a partner, one typically dedicate to ensuring that a specific task is accomplished to bring out a better result and performance.
The Walmart Alabama HR personnel feels that it is the ability to be able to get sufficient sleep and wake up in time has enabled him to be a capable partner to the company and be in a position to efficiently delegate duties and review the policies with minimum stress. He stated, "Sufficient sleep helps one to relax and relieve pressure and therefore lessens stress level." As partners, they take ownership of decisions and also take responsibility for the results and stay trustworthy.
The HR profession that I interviewed tends to feel that an active HR professional is supposed to show interest in the business and have a healthy relationship with other line managers that they work with. In the event of their contributions, the HR professionals need to comprehend how they add or can add value to the company as partners. The Walmart HR in Alabama describes this, "being in the system to make a change as one of the co-owners." Moreover, he stated through the interview that as an HR professional, he needs the understand the operations of the business and think in terms of the business before actually thinking of people. He feels that everything he has to conduct must pass through a line of managers, colleagues, and employees. Therefore, there is a need to build essential and practical relationship skills, and this can be shown via an individual's behavior.
During the interview, the HRM suggested that he, as a professional has to work on attaining various skills and opportunities to make him be even a more effective partner within the organization. Some of the of such skills include the following: getting to understand the business and why it exists; understand the operations of the company to be in a position to deliver the value proportion that the firm had to its client and interpret the organizational capabilities and the skills needed to enhance the performance of the business.
At the time of the interview, the HR profession shared some of his perceptions regarding future trends in the field of Human Resource Management. He spoke of technology to be providing much more freedom to be flexible in their work. He stated, "Technology needs to serve pedagogy and not vice versa." He further suggested that it will remain priorities as organizations seek to foster employee-centric cultures and focus on engagements to be able to boost productivity and enhance satisfaction.
Again, he feels that in the future, the concept of HR guidance through OGS (Organization Guidance Systems) will take hold. He said, "I perceive HR delivering value by proving more 'guidance' rather than just dashboards, scorecards, or predictive analytics." After the interview. I realized that implementing the right strategies enhance an active partnership of HR to the general business and focusing on the future occurrences in the field.
