Introduction

Under the poem written by Robert Hass on the story about the Body, it attracts one's attention due to its unfitting coupling of language on romantic as well as deeper and darker subject matter. Under his story, the younger composer represents the protagonist while the whole conflict present is revolving around to his love for his fellow artist (Hass, 3). The referred artist is a Japanese woman aged sixty years. The original or moral message from his poem reflects a caution to the readers against being involved in unrealistic romanticism.

The main characters in the poem are artists because traditionally were believed that they were able to replicate as well as see the world beauty. Nevertheless, they are particularly liable to the beauty of over-romanticism. In this story, the mood is slightly surreal as Hass enhanced a dreamlike tone in it. Robert achieved this due to his use of many clauses and soft imagery, mainly at the start of the poem, where the structure of the sentence contained many pictorial terms that are separated by commas.

Like in the case where Robert mentions how the protagonist has a love for the woman's work and how he likes her way of moving her body, he requires the reader to take time in reading it, leaving breathless to an end. In this structure, he added a wispy tone, which covers the whole story. After all, the set mood of romantic love from the start of the story was to presage an unpleasant as well as an abrupt conclusion (Hass, 4). Every details h used from insignificant to the significant ones of his feeling lead to building symbolism as he ends the story.

As the story ends, it reflects some resistance hence building up the symbolism. This can be interpreted as a bowl of bees where flower petals are used to cover it as quiet, although firm reproof from the Japanese artist to the protagonist who is represented as a young composer. In the part that Hass used rose petals to disguise unpleasantness of the underneath dead bees, he wanted to express the grace and beauty of the artist as the young composer saw her initially. Bees here were representing the real Body of the lady as well as a double mastectomy.

In the end, the artist finds the truth of the matter, thus lost all his interest quickly and immediately retreated to his chamber. According to Robert, the precise phrasing was the shinning which he carried in his chest as well as the belly cavity like withered music. The music is reflected from the young composer's smile, which was like a comparison to his feelings in music served for reinforcing his disposition artistic (Hass, 5). Therefore, from the quote reader infers that the love of the composer to the lady was not like it was before, but instead, he was left with a desire or infatuation.

The story teaches the reader that if a man has a pure love for any woman, then the lady's physical appearance cannot be the factor of whether or stop being in a relationship with her (Hass, 6). In the poem's story, the protagonist failed to accept this. Then to end, the main message from the poem is, life always is of less than people's imaginations, and not all glitters are gold.
