The potential of improving home comfortability, convenience, security as well as entertainment lies in smart homes. Fulfilling this smart technology would lead to benefits to everyone in their homes. From this paper, we have seen how HCI plays a vital role in making home smart. Human-computer interaction lays a platform in which machines have the ability to interact with human as well as become part of his/her life. HCI as much as smart homes are concerned; it has a variety of applications. With the application of Human-computer interaction in smart homes, integration of household appliances has turned out easy as well as simple task. The design ideologies dwell in offering elasticity in the preparation of activities, structure as well as modification of routines.

Designing for handler involvements requires a complete tactic whereby system machinery such as functionality, edge as well as the look and feel allow rudimentary human wants. Basic wants like self-sufficiency, aptitude, relatedness as well as self-actualization encompass the goal to design for once the lower needs involving functionality as well as usability is encountered. Therefore, a deeper acquaintance of the fundamental human wants in context as well as via the enactment of state-of-the-art inner philosophies regarding humanoid processes, HCI designers will have the ability to strategize for handler experiences which develop day to day natural life at the same time improve the welfare of the society (Antona & Stephanidis, 2017). The outline which is enabled in the study of designing smart household devices which have been set up in the research will aid as the imminent research work. The major subsequent stage is to broaden the ideal installation as well as execute software machinery, such as logging utensils or rather data plans that offer the prospect of a comprehensive analysis of the behavior of the handlers networking with the structure.

Infrastructure enables a home in adopting automation as well as controlling of electrical appliances without emphasizing the need of rewiring the house. One can do the installation of power outlets as well as sockets which may be controlled by the use of signals in the electrical connection of the house. At the same time, this can be done by plugging in an adapter to a compatible power outlet that is able of responding to or can send signals in the connections and therefore be switched on/off as well as report the status. Sensors at the same time cameras alongside other devices do exist with the ability to be controlled and then transmit more sophisticated data via the wirings. Alternatively, the setting of an address for every adapter is available this will make the devices being attached to them recognizable in the network. Addition of different types of wired or even wireless devices to this set-up is possible. Controlling and communicating with the different appliances can be done by connecting a computer through an adapter to the network. This enables the ability to control a home (DUXU (Conference), Marcus & International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction, 2016).

The knowledge of ubiquitous computing in the home surrounding is another issue. Integration of devices into the surrounding so that users can communicate one on one with the surrounding as well as the objects which are equipped to the computer seems to be the idea behind ubiquitous computing. This involves making the computers themselves not to be visible as well as avoid distracting the user at the same time; the user will be able to communicate instinctively with a context-aware surrounding.
