Introduction
Pride has been the core trait in this comic novel in many circumstances. Its impacts have been seen in many ways, which at some point has resulted in redemption or slightly more of the positive effects. First of all, on the island of Themyscira, it's inhabited by women who are believed that they never get old and that they are stronger than any men. Therefore, such gave them pride that they could even engage in wars. Such satisfaction drove them to participate in conflict with the older men of the world, where Aella viewed herself as strong enough to fight them, hence made Aella meet her death in the fight. The Queen therefore came up with a suggestion of retreating. The pride made her suggest a fight with Herakles with the condition of returning her people to the Amazonium. It's clear from this the negative effect of satisfaction has resulted in an outbreak of war but instead associated with great deals of redemption. It includes that the outcomes of such war will help the women access their island even if, at first, they were defeated. Such pride led Amazon women to access their island where they got the powers hence living in peace and harmony.
Zeus also has revealed pride as the soldier of Herakles. He is attracted to the beauty of Hippolyta's, where he suggests another plan. On the other hand, his wife is unhappy and therefore planned on a way that she could solve the matter. She gave them away on which they can use to escape her husband's grasp. Such action was a sign of redemption Hippolyta's crew, where they are given a hint on how they can get out. Such led them to the island that they were living into, a sign of moving out of the war. Basing on this scenario, pride had negative impacts on the side of Herakles and Zeus, where they lost because of the plan that Zeus had towards the deal that was proposed but later led to redemption on the Queen's side, where she and the soldiers sailed away to their unique island.
Princess Diana reveals another pride scenario. She is a young princess but too pride where she view herself as powerful (Thompson n.d). She is using her powers to put everyone in trouble, and she doesn't want to be taught anything. From the story, she needs to go and learn music and play, but she refuses the offer. She does everything by herself, and such pride, therefore, has led to her discovering her unique gift of flying. She is viewing her helper as unable to help her find out her practice. She moves away from home to go on her own for her to discover her gift. Hence such pride is helping her to find out what she is talented in doing rather than sitting indoors to learn what she is not best at doing. Furthermore, she had pride that she would not apologize for anything that she has done wrong. Also, this led to her discovering various skills she got, such as having the ability to make direct shoots using arrows and made her find out her gift.
Conversely, the adverse effects of pride that princess Diana is revealed to her helper. She is giving her stress most of the time, which is making her unhappy. She doesn't want to be said anything by her; she sends her helpers without respect, exceptionally when she was requesting for food (Thompson n.d). She wants everything to be hers every moment. From this, she gains the qualities of leading others in everything. Also, Alethea, in this comic novel, has shown negative traits of pride. Such has resulted in her compete with Princess Diana in everything. Despite the princess trying to convince her, she refuses her every offer and does her things. In the real sense, such can bring some underground conflicts, and later, when they were competing, she was about to finish the first one when Princess Diana came up with her solution to defeat her. The pride weakened her relationship with Diana, and the negative outcome led to her death. Such transformed Princess Diana to defend the weak and other people.
Diana has furthermore; other adverse effects of her pride are revealed. This is where they were competing and that she used her powers and gifts to her self-gain. She always wants her to win in everything. Therefore, she tried to gain the trophy by subjecting her fellow sisters in the competition to troubles (Thompson n.d). It led to death and injury of her sisters from the war that erupted. She is therefore accused and denied by everyone in the city but later defended by one lady called Lucia. Such led to redemption where Princess Diana is sent out of the city to fight for the rights of the weak and sick in the society. She went out as a protector of the weak giving them hope for life and protecting them.
