From one's experiences when young, Abraham Lincoln went the extra mile and nurtured one's interests and beliefs on hard work, and one yearned to escape poverty and become someone great. Abraham Lincoln was born in the year 1809 in a small cabin in Kentucky, and he acquired little formal education (Crofts, 2016). Abraham Lincoln traveled around the world and to the great Mississippi, where one witnessed slave auctioning and that the slaves got separated from their families. These slave experiences made Abraham Lincoln develop the desire to help people and the importance of independence (Crofts, 2016). Abraham Lincoln hated slavery, which made Abraham Lincoln develop the desire to free the American Republic from any form of slavery.

After some years, Abraham Lincoln was elected into the House of Representatives in the US, where one supported the bill to abolish any slave trade (Neels, 2019). On the path of slavery, Abraham Lincoln advocated for a transparent government where one opposed any form of prejudice or discrimination based on race by burning the candle at both ends (Neels, 2019). It is because one believed that every citizen was equal.

Abraham Lincoln joined the Republican Party to fight for the abolition of slavery. One later won the election in the year 1860. After winning the election, Lincoln convinced the federal government to initiate legal action against any form of slavery (Schearer, 2019). When the newspapers spilled the beans on the war strategies, Abraham Lincoln fired every editing magazine. One also formulated strategies to be used in the army since Lincoln was known as the Commander in Chief during the Civil War (Schearer, 2019) After the war Lincoln used his power to abolish slavery in every state.
