In the article "The anti-lobby of big bankroll," Lee Fang (An American Journalist) narration focused on the dangers of the legalization of marijuana. The point he tried to raise concerning this debate was that when marijuana is legalized, it will bring many adverse effects. The article begins by showing how a former congressman (Patrick Kennedy) crashed his car after abusing his prescription drugs (OxyContin) over the influence of alcohol. In 2013, he assisted the Project Sam group to support marijuana, even though the federal wanted to legalize it. He was also part of the 2,000 people that proposed the legalization of marijuana in Washington, DC during the annual convention known as the Community Drug Coalition in the U.S.

The periodical article is important because it highlights the advantages of legalization through its rich, detailed information. Moreover, when I made this comparison to others, I discovered that the article is on the VCU database thus making it an academic source. Jon Gettman (a researcher, analysis and professor of marijuana policies) argued that if the open markets get the permission to sell marijuana, then people would also cultivate it legally. Gettman also said that when marijuana was legalized the illicit market will have a chance to grow. The solution to this was creating a law that would regulate the marijuana market, thus enhancing the access to this product. Moreover, the markets which will create a vast market will make the prices of marijuana to drop.

The source is useful to my studies because it talks about the benefits of legalizing marijuana. When I compare this source with others, I discovered that only an academic journal was in use. The reason why this type of strain was given such a name was that medically, cannabis does not make people high because it contains less than 0.3% THC, which is known as the active part of marijuana which produces psychoactive effects. Moreover, medical marijuana is richer that CBD or cannabinoid a chemical found in the plant because it helps patients with epilepsy, Huntington disease, and seizures. In recent years, many families that had children who had epilepsy were taken to Colorado to receive the oil treatment made by Stanley's strain also called as the 'Charlotte Web.'

This is a potent source because it tells the story of the Stanley brothers and how their products should be legalized. In contrast, while the article focuses on medical marijuana, it is also a reliable source because it is published in the New York Times. The report, therefore, helps me with my studies because it educates concerning federal laws and how marijuana should be legalized. One way this article can be used in my project is to be elaborating the components of marijuana and the minimal side effects it has in its usage.

The fifth chapter of the book 'Marijuana' narrated by Joseph Tardiff talks about an article written by Clifford Krauss concerning Mark Emery who was known as the 'Prince of Pot.' In Canada Emery was given the nickname because he made millions of dollars by selling the marijuana seeds that was later convicted by the government. Emery also planned to sell marijuana worldwide to the point the governments will be unable to control or eradicate this crop. During his conviction, Emery was charged with manufacturing marijuana, trafficking millions of marijuana seeds as well as money laundering in the United States. The goal of Emery was to ensure that marijuana was legalized all over the world. The chapters of the book solemnly show how parents were considering the pros and cons of smoking marijuana.

The book is, therefore, a significant contributor to my studies because it reflects more on smoking marijuana and the effects it may generate through various examples. The goal of this source is also educational, verified, has reliable facts and pretty much unbiased. The best part is how the author talks about the viewpoints of each argument in every sub-topic.

In the 'The surprising Story Paediatric Epilepsy and Medical Marijuana" clip by Stanely Josh, he talks about the greed, fear, and propaganda encompassing medical marijuana. As featured on CNN, Josh designed a non-psychotropic strain of marijuana and how it reduced seizures in many pediatric individuals that lived in Colorado. While many more were suffering from the life-threatening disease, Josh state that pot needs to be legalized to affect the political maps and change towards assisting those that desperately wanted the revolutionary medicine. In the video, the speaker that developed the strain stated that it was useful because Josh Stanley who was once a victim of the disease got his cure from the medicine. Stanley was, therefore, relying on the information because behind his struggle marijuana cured his disease. The video which also featured Ted Talks was aired in the YouTube Channel to educate the public concerning marijuana and how it has successfully treated patients that suffered from disorders such as seizures and epilepsy

The information from this source fits in my research because it provides an extensive description of the advantages of medical marijuana. The video also helps me to shape my arguments as to why marijuana is vital in treating some diseases without having side effects. The topic has also changed the way I think by believing that marijuana has more pros than cons.

Conclusion

The topic about marijuana has always brought debates on whether to legalize it or not. In every country, the basis about marijuana depends on how valuable the plant it. In some states, marijuana is seen to have adverse effects both on the economy and socially. However, the article has managed to show the stand that marijuana has more merits than the defaults. Moreover, pot has been seen to be more beneficial when used as a medicine. The use of marijuana, therefore, will assist many countries if legalized.
