Introduction
Physical activity is a voluntary body movement that skeletal muscles as a result of the expenditure of energy. Physical activities regularly prevent non-communicable diseases such as stroke, heart diseases, and cancer. Physical activities vary, and they include wheeling, cycling, walking, and sports. Physical activities can be done for leisure or sports fitness purposes, but they almost serve the same purpose of keeping the body fit and active (n.p, 2019). This paper discusses the benefits of physical fitness and its influence on the development of self-image and confidence.
Numerous Benefits
Physical Activities has numerous benefits to our bodies. I think over one-third of the United States' adult citizens are obese, which an excessive buildup of fats that impairs the body's health. Obesity may lead to several medical complications, including gall bladder diseases, stroke, cancer, and diabetes. Even though obesity is attributed to lifestyle and may also result from family genes, physical activity burns calories and reduces fats accumulation in the body. It improves the overall health among citizens and reduces many chronic diseases.
I understand physical activities regularly improve the body's fitness and reduce the risks of cardiovascular diseases associated with excessive accumulation of body fats. Physical activities strengthen the muscles and the bones, making individuals strong and less prone to diseases. It also serves as a defense mechanism for participants because of the fitness and the ease of body movement. Generally, physical activities result in a better life because individuals have improved mental health, increased energy levels, and general mood(n.p, 2019). Citizens are encouraged to participate in physical activities to keep a healthy nation.
Positive Mood
Physical exercise is imperative in improving a person's mood positively. This is because, during physical activity, the body tends to release essential hormones from the brain. These hormones help one to feel less anxious and making them feel happy and more relaxed. The hormones thus help in boosting the physical appearance of an individual. Regular physical exercises boost a person's confidence and improve their self-esteem. Moreover, exercising also helps promote better sleep to a person by falling asleep at ease and improving their sleep quality. However, the exercises should not be done a few hours before an individual goes to bed; this is because their bodies may be too energized to go bed.
Physical exercise is an effective way of managing various health conditions that may not necessarily be weight-related. Regular exercising helps curb many health-related concerns like metabolic syndrome as a result of inhibited vigorous activity. Other conditions that may result from less physical activity include; stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, falls, arthritis, anxiety, and depression (n.p, 2019). Moreover, physical activity helps boost the cognitive function of an individual. Therefore, the exercises' overall role is to prevent any death caused by various illnesses at all costs by boosting muscle endurance and strengthening the muscles.
Nonetheless, through exercising, oxygen is delivered efficiently to the cardiovascular systems and improves the tissues' functioning, most especially the lungs and heart. The increased energy through the various systems helps an individual to tackle activities effectively without strain. In the physical activity aspects, various activities determine the effectiveness of the physical exercises. First is the physical exercise duration; the longer the exercise period, the more effective the exercise's impact. However, an individual should ensure that their bodies are in constant exercise for at least 2-3 hours a week.
Activity of the Various Body Muscles
Secondly, there are different activities involved in physical exercise that may benefit the body in different ways. In the category of physical exercise intensity, there is the moderate-intensity activity where the exercise aims to make an individual feel warmer, breathe faster, and raise the heart rate; this activity can be done by helping an individual move faster the activity of the various body muscles. The other type of activity is a vigorous activity, which is more intense; this activity is estimated to bring more health benefits than moderate activity since most body organs are directly in the activity.
According to the United States department of health, the levels of inactivity in an individual's body are the constant cause of various health problems. Therefore, individuals' sedentary lifestyle is speculated to be the major agonist of the potential benefits that can be accrued to physical exercise. For instance, individuals' activity levels, the time they spent with less activity or complete inactivity, or non-physical engaging activities like sitting down for long hours immensely contribute to lifestyle diseases.
Osteoarthritis is a medical condition commonly referred to as a degenerative joint disease associated with the destruction of the joints' cartilages. Physical exercise plays an immense role in curbing this deadly disease; through exercising, lubrication of the cartilage joint increases, and the muscles strength is increased; thus, the individual's balance is achieved. Therefore exercising in an individual with osteoarthritis helps ease the pain that the individual is prone to undergo in conjunction with improving the individual's general health. Apart from the drugs taken with patients with osteoarthritis condition exercising is the most effective therapy. However, in such cases of osteoarthritis, balancing the exercising activity is important to ensure that the individual does not overstrain while participating in the exercise.
Physical Appearance
We all know that physical exercise has an important role in boosting an individual's physical appearance, confidence, and self-image. Immediately a physical exercising session begins, the brain records a moment of stress. Therefore the brain releases a defense mechanism of fighting the stress by releasing a brain-derived neurotrophic factor with a protective and reparative substance. The brain-derived neurotrophic factor is the causes an individual to feel at ease and relieved after exercising. Other than the BDNF released after exercising, the brain also triggers the release of endorphin hormones that are happy and help fight stress during the exercising period.
Conclusion
Therefore, the exercise and the release of the endorphin hormones, one can feel confident about themselves. On the impact of exercising on an individual's self-esteem, exercising impacts on an individual's looks in terms of appearance, therefore, impacts an individual's general identity by boosting their confidence. Some individuals usually begin to exercise since they do not like their appearance, which really impacts one's self-esteem. Through exercising, they achieve their desired body, which boosts their confidence.
