There are several ways in which music relates to the physical and social environment. My imaginary culture is traditional music culture whereby the environment significantly affects the music and the daily lives of individuals. The isolation that is found in the environment makes it more challenging for women and men to communicate, hence is creating their unique method of singing. The traditional music culture consists of a culture that is made up of a culture that is surrounded by herding animals. Whenever an individual is tending to the animals on the mountain tops, they must ensure that individuals who are below them are hearing them. There is the need of making individuals understand that the individuals from the traditional music culture are exemplified in their techniques of singing. Therefore, the act of singing loudly is perceived in the traditional music culture as being strong and the act of singing powerful means being beautiful. It is essential for individuals to show that their strength in the vast environment.
In music, syncretism does not always seen as what it represents. Syncretism does not entail combining of various cultures. In the traditional music culture, syncretism involves a blend of multiple cultures and sounds that are connected in such a manner that they form one artwork. Syncretism usually is used in instruments, percussions, and choirs. It concentrates on mixing sounds and beats which go smoothly together with the developed slew of various works with each other. In the traditional music culture, syncretism does not only bring the culture of the society, but it also brings meaning. The people in the conventional music culture may be explored by utilizing ethnomusicology. Ethnomusicology model involves the study of music in a given culture (Modir, 1986). It is critical to first of all look at how music embodies the culture of individuals in society. Additionally one should be able to analyze the music culture in a manner that brings the analytical usefulness to the culture concept.
There are several ways in which the traditional music culture used music as a way of maintaining their social identity. It started with economies hardships experienced in the society whereby young generations were made to look for employment elsewhere. Several individuals began singing in a way they could tell their stories. Individuals lifted their spirits through music and dance.
Conclusion
From a classmate's submission on the music culture from a rich culture, emphasizes that there is a type of music specific to a given gathering of the community. The entire mode of many songs was airing on the lighter and melodic side of the music. Given that no events were going on meant to sustain and improve the community, the individuals working would use music in a fashion of utilitarian. The classmate's submission relates to my fictional people's music given that they used music as a way of creating and maintaining the community. From my fictional people's music, music provided a way in which communities bonded and connected. When individuals who came from various culture and background write music, it becomes inevitable for those backgrounds to conjoin and connect. Music within the traditional music culture was used to express hardships and tell stories hence it was perceived as being a powerful way of creating bonds and constructing identity amongst the communities.
