Ava is a Swedish actress born in Gothenburg. She liked acting when she was a young girl. She has a robotic body, and her face, hands, and feet are human-like. Ava falls in love with Caleb, and she triggers surveillance power from Nathan to spend time with Caleb. She can cut the power of the entire room, and Nathan feels disturbed with her interactions with Caleb and plans to shut down her system by deleting memories with him. She fears what will happen to her and cuts off the system outrage for Caleb to reprogram her after Nathan is very drunk.

However, she is very deceiving like human beings, and after things are messed up, she reprograms herself and does not care about Caleb after he helped her. Humans and androids almost function the same. The difference between the robot's mind and human attributes is that of a human in passing the artificial intelligence test. Ava deceives Caleb with programmed skills and manipulates him by leaving him after he killed the CEO for helping Ava.

The concept between human and an android is very challenging since a machine deceives Caleb. After helping, he is left to die, and he has killed a human being. Ava had no care for Caleb but rather to achieve her goal by using him. Caleb, however, is betrayed for lying to Ava, and he also lied to Nathan, who was listening during a power outage. Human bodies and machines are not far different because they all think and implement reasoning.

How and why Ava's and Kyoko's acts make Caleb doubt his humanity?

Ava was programmed to manipulate Caleb and run away. It shows that she did not care about Caleb bur, preferably using him for her benefit. Caleb feels betrayed and taken for a fool after an android uses him to kill a human and lefts him to die will screaming for help. His act for reticence changes when he falls for Ava. Caleb is deceived because he is not a scientific and robotic terminator according to trepidation that surrounds artificial intelligence research (Tuckett 23).

In learning that Nathan was going to destroy Ava after the completion of the tests, and this will mean changing and reprograming her memories, he helps her. In the Humanity act, the android passes the testes, Ava, and Caleb; the human fails. Through the explanation of Nathan to Caleb on why he built the artificial intelligence is that change is inevitable, and he sees the android as a tool for evolution. The fact that Ava and Kyoko killed Nathan by using a knife, he feels disturbed, and, in the process, destroy them (Tuckett 24). However, Ava has replaced the human through tricking him. He screams for help because he didn't expect the device to kill a human. He doubts his humanity since the actions of the human and android are almost the same, and he cuts himself to prove he is not artificial. In about four to five days in a different environment, he doubts his humanity after the experiences he undertakes that does not make a lot of sense to him. Kyoko and Ava choose Caleb because of his morals by making him pass out and setting a plan. He was testing with a question, saw transformation videos, and the fact that Kyoko looked a human who could not speak made Caleb doubt his humanity further.
