McCabe & Mrs. Miller is an American revisionist western film featuring Warren Beatty and Julie Christie and coordinated by Robert Altman. The screenplay is based on the 1959 novel McCabe by Edmund Naughton. Altman alluded to it as an "anti-western film" since the film overlooks or subverts a number of Western traditions. The Hollywood Renaissance or the "New Hollywood" came approximately after World War II.
