Introduction
Social imagination is termed as being the aspect that enables the different individuals to comprehend on their positions and lives. The social context is widening by the apprehension of both the careers and lives we undertake daily. Social imagination also aids the community to attributes and impacts of everybody in society. It tries to stipulate and accommodate various factors for better consolidation of the different scenarios in life (Kerr, K. 2015). All individuals are guaranteed to play a part in giving and creating grounds for history to the societal meanings. The central promise granted by social imagination is on defining the ability to apprehend biography and history of relationships between various societies. Social imagination is an enabler in creating people to inhibit multiple views that help in broadening of the opinions to world perspective. It removes the aspects of individualism of a person to the essence of public work as a group.
Social imagination has a lot of lessons, and the first one is on the ability to shape different people to comprehend their fate positions in their life experiences. Through the use of this approach, different people are in a place to make a difference between themselves and others doing the same thing. The association, biography, and history of different people in society can be well stipulated through the adoption of social imagination. Imagination is termed as the capability to change from one perspective to the other. The intervention of the different aspects allows people to create interpersonal transformations of elements into more complex situations and later critically analyze them for better comprehension. Social imagination is taken as being so transparent for the people that their thinking is limited for certain aspects only. At this point, there is the essence of social imagination trying to open up new ideas through inventions that are clear and precise through the setting of objectives and goals. In this context, people find the different decisions they could have made a long time becoming wrong. The main reasons for accepting their wrongs are supported by having new experiences on the scope of the transvaluation of cultural values (Kerr, 2015). There is bringing up the cultural apprehension on the social aspects for them to have some essence.
How Does C. Wright Mills Differentiate Between "Troubles" And "Issues"?
Troubles are taken to be the things that individuals do base on their character and the external associations they are exposed to and the others. On the other side, issues are limited to the common areas and avenues of a person that are dwelt in their life. The ways of gapping these troubles are by a person having to comprehend his or her social setting. The person's experience and the surrounding of people with troubles depict the solution to them. Trouble can even be termed as a situation that possesses a threat to the social values adopted and liked by different people. Issues can be referred to as the matters that are out of reach to the area of an individual, more profound life experience, and the local environment. Therefore, issues are not termed as being private matters, although it impacts the core values that most people are expected to emulate. The rise of problem disorders causes the uprise of contradictions in institutions.
The variance between issues and troubles is that problems are taken as being personal, and one individual faces and may resolve them. The stresses on the other hand are termed as being time-consuming and related to the public, and the problems are taken to relate troubles at some points. The main difference that makes the troubles to be differentiated from the issues is on problems being 'causal to the troubles in the societies'.
What Are the Current "Troubles" In Your Life?
For my cause, the trouble that I face is being a student at an adult age. The studies done at adulthood are very complicated since they are accompanied with many responsibilities. The studying environment is tampered and affected by the adulthood roles and responsibilities that have to be accomplished. The primary challenge is on juggling between work, school, family and other jobs. All these three elements are very critical in my life, and I have a role in making sure I upheld all these aspects. Work is vital since I get paid for doing other functions (Marx, 1972). School is critical since I have to learn to gain more knowledge to solve challenges in life amicably. Family is also a crucial aspect that I have to adhere to my children and wife that need the most to keep me working hard for them. Despite all of these issues, life is still vital in making sure I have all things sorted out in time.
In summary, issues are factors that happen to the public, while troubles are personal based things and settings that pose threats to persons' values. The problems are related to causing risks to issues of public interest. Notably, basing on overtime, individual troubles are associated with challenges of the public.
Brief Family Ethnography
The summary on my family's ethnography goes back to my grandparents being born in the 1900s. Thierno Mamadou Bary was my grandfather's name while Diallo Binta was my grandmother name. Both my grandparents were born in Pita, Guinea Conakry in a rural area. My grandfather was a farmer while my grandmother was a housekeeper. At their periods, they used not to have a lot of occupations but instead, they made sure that they had food on their table and thus the depiction of a simple life.
Also, Houraye Dialo and Barry Ibrahim are my mothers and fathers name respectively. My dad was born in 1964, while my mum was born in 1970 and raised in Guinea. My father had several jobs while housekeeping was the central role of my mother. My father grew up as he followed the footsteps of my grandfather until his demise. The most time my father worked outside Guinea and only visited at holidays. My father also migrated through Ivory Coast and Senegal before settling in the U.S. Throughout this movement, some struggles were of much pain, but he hard to work for us as his children.
More so, I am the oldest in a group of five with four siblings. I remain to be a role model for the other since I am the eldest, and I have to work so hard. 'I did things carefully with the right things fast to avoid misleading actions'. All my family members were raised in Pita. Our second born is twins and they were Abdou and Fatima born in 1997. The next sibling born in 2005 is Adama Dian Barry and the youngest is Mamadou Thierno born 2008 and he was named after our grandfather. All of us had an opportunity to learn in school, unlike my grandparents and parents who had no chance. It was for the struggle for our parents that we had to learn hard and for them to determine different aspects of gaining more skills and knowledge for life issues.
It was after my father worked in the U.S when he moved us to the nation that most children dreamt of going to get the most viable education ever. I went to the U.S in 2009 when I was 15 years old and did 2 years of high school and then got an opportunity in the American University. When I was in the second semester I the university I had to drop out to aid my parent. My father was struggling and I thought it was the right time for me to support my father in fulfilling my other siblings and grandparents roles. The motive of becoming a man like my parents came into my mind, and I had to join the army. The primary purpose was making my parents feel proud and excited for all works of life that I had done and making sure my siblings get the most cautious education and everything they wanted.
In the army, I was driven with the motive of becoming more aggressive on having more practical life with parent's essentiality to have all responsibilities in my hands. I got married and had two daughters that were my driving force for working. I am now at NYC trying to fix my college degree for enabling my provision of best life to my family. The motive that keeps me working hard as I go back to college is to make my daughters enjoyment of most provident life for better living in the American lives.
"My Father"
My father is called Ibrahima Barry; he is 55 years old and he is from Guinea, West Africa. He was the primary provider as early as 16 years of age; his father prepared him and taught him to be life and manhood. The father's discipline and rules were rigorous and it sharpened me into the man I am today. He appreciates life as it is especially culture, family and religion it should be men's priorities and those values he gave me am still using and it helps me in the life of today. I was born and raised in Guinea, Conakry; I grew up in a district called Pita, where I spend most of my childhood. Our life depends on raising livestock and agriculture so it was hard for us to move from our place of birth. In the 1960s 95 per cent of the houses were huts and during trading, the journey was the only time I saw a cement house; it was not in our village where I lived. Our house was made with mud bricks and roof was made of hay which covers the wood.
I grew up in a place where children were to be men, and I never go to school. I only study Koran with my father and doing chores. I started trading when I was sixteen; I could walk 100 to 300 miles to trade so as I could take care of my mother when dad passed away. There was a long journey where I could carry vegetable, legume, rice and 20 litres of palm oil to bring back home to my mother. My father believes that school was for white people to brainwash blacks; he was against globalization so he refuses to enroll me in school. In the early 20s, I did not dream about education so I left a country called Senegal to live and work.
However, it was hard to define my first job because I had worked for many years. Our life became hard when my father passed away it came with expectation and pressure I could imagine. I made May way to New York after years went by my first job washing the car that lasted 7 months now am driving a taxi. I thank God because with his wishes He made me drive through the city without being able to write and read (Saunders, 2018). When I was in Senegal my favorite job was to carry ice -cream cooler around the neighborhood. My father passed when I was 15 years and I had to brothers older than me. I became responsible for my family because I was mature than my brothers. I want to do everything to make my mother happy.
When I started my trading journey, I was aware of social/economic classes. I saw I could make more money efficiency when I was in the cities then I went to Dakar the capital city of Senegal. The behavior and new culture are burdening which is the biggest concern; right now, people are ignoring the old roots. I was thinking of following words when we had our education and hospital. The technology was the only thing that people are relying on and is making fewer people smart and more on the negative side. More people were healthier than today because the new something was not more like today (Saunders, 2018). As not in any cost evolving is tremendous. I found myself very poor in there because I did not have my father and I was the only source of income in our family. I was also not going to school and I could not go right at this moment because I was older and years had passed.
