Introduction
The Rose Bowl is one of the oldest sporting events in America, and it has become popular over the years. It is the oldest American postseason college football held annually on 1st January in California. After every Bowl game, the Tournament of Roses Parade follows and this is one of the most famous parades. The first event was held in 1980, and it was attended by the local citizens, and after the parade, there also held athletic events. In this year's event, Ohio State emerged victorious by defeating Washington by 28 to 23 in a tightly contested match.
The tournament brings people from different states that come to experience these fantastic games (Brantley, 2015). These games have positive benefits on the economic and social lives of the people. Firstly, the events create revenue for the city, and this contributes to economic growth. The organizers, Pasadena Tournament of Roses have invested a lot in the event, and this has contributed to its growth in various aspects. For instance, in 2018, the event raised about 198.2 million dollars, and this included the cash the event raised indirectly (Holmberg, 2016, p. 23). The game generates huge sums of the cash, and this means the management can increase profits. The event also opens doors for partnerships which are an excellent opportunity for the game to get even better. They partner with different companies who get to advertise their products. Based on the people's likes the organizers get to know some of the services to offer those in attendance. For instance, they can decide on the artists they should hire to perform during the events to make it a success.
The rights holders of the event include some of the biggest television stations in the country. They can air the event, and the people who do not attend the event can follow up on the games. This is one of the best opportunities for these broadcasting to make money primarily through charging for their services (Holmberg, 2016). Moreover, this is also an excellent opportunity for these companies to strike advertising deals with companies to market their products. They are considering the magnitude of the event these media houses have a chance to their brands in the country. As a result, these media houses increase their viewership across the country, and this has an impact on their profits.
The event is an excellent way for the people to interact and have fun considering it is held on 1ST January. The game has a crucial role in the social value on the members of the community considering people get a chance to learn about different cultures from the visitors. This knowledge is vital because people get to realize the services that would satisfy their needs. For instance, in the restaurants, they get to know some of the foods the visitors prefer and they could specialize in that line of business to increase their profits. These interactions help to the people to learn different values of the people helping them to embrace and value the diversity among people.
Conclusion
The event brings different people together, and it has a positive impact on the economic and social value of people. The game has gained more popularity among people and this way it has created different opportunities, and people have ventured in them. The partnerships have benefited various parties who get to win in these situations especially in terms of business. Lastly, the residents of Pasadena have helped in different, and I believe introducing other games would make the event bigger and better.
