Response to First Video
The first video features both Jessie Mueller and Lena Hall who are Tony Winners. In the 20 minute video, the two talk about their real life experiences and how they beat the odds of achieving a career in singing and acting. Jessie Mueller talks of how her parents influenced her to become an actress and singer since they were both career actors. She speaks of how lucky she is to have such parents who mentor and understand her dreams and goals of becoming an entertainer in the showbiz industry. Lena Hall, on the other hand, is a rock and roll singer who is enrolled in a band. She speaks of how she has been always dreaming of becoming who she is now, and that her band is her greatest support and pride. She is speaking of how much work she has to put in before she achieves her ultimate voice given the demands of the rock and roll music genre. She attributes courage and hard work as the guiding principles to her achievement. This video has been shot well, and it outs in perspective the experiences of the two artists both on stage and off stage and how they prepare before going on stage.
Response to Second Video
The second video highlights the experiences of both Billy Porter and Patina Miller who are working while doing an interview where they narrate on their path to winning the Tony Awards and how their schedule is on a daily basis. Both of these artists are of African-American descent. Billy Porter begins the inspirational story of how proud he is that the black people have come from so far and have achieved so much now. He speaks more of sexism in the video and how he tries to bring the balance between the feminine and masculine aspects in the world today. Porter also narrates of how his background does not define who he is given he is gay, black, and a Christian. Patina Miller speaks of how shy she has been since she was a kid, and how her mum used to push her to sing in the choir since she was young, approximately 8 years old, and that this has been her stepping stone to achieving the milestone she has today. She says that she has never doubted that she will achieve great strides since she was 8 years and that she believed that nothing could hinder her from achieving her dreams. The video teaches the audience of what these stars go through both on stage and off the stage, and what one needs to achieve a career in theatre performance.
Response to Class post
My classmate's post on Cindy and her relation to her peers Danielle, Dylan, and Brian is brief, well-constructed, and of perfect grammar. My classmate has made brief responses to the questions and narrations that are attractive to the reader. All the points have been made appropriately and sufficiently, not shying away from mentioning his opinion and the message he grasped from the readings. In most cases readers usually deviate from mentioning their opinions when it comes to analysis of a book, but my classmate has been precise on every point. The paper is well arranged, and the flow is perfect and soothing to the eyes. It just makes one to be glued to the posts. The paper is well articulated proving that the writer read and understood the readings to the latter.
