The Role of Cloud Computing in Business Intelligent

Business Intelligence (BI) is a software application designed for data analysis, providing reports, and presenting data with a similar view. The methodology used for data access, analysis reports for business is achieved by using a business intelligence software (Bahrami & Singhal, 2018). There are a vast number of concepts adopted in Business Intelligence, such as tools infrastructure, application, process, and technologies in supporting the decision-making process. Business Intelligent is a data-oriented process combining collection and data storage with management knowledge in providing input for the decision making process.

Business Intelligent is oriented towards the decision-making process through the use of technology and data and related processes and skills hence serve as a backbone to the organization. Therefore, Business Intelligent can be extended to a general term, including practices, infrastructure, tools, and applications to enable analysis and access in optimizing decision making and performance (Thakare & Mittal, 2019). The aim role of cloud computing in Business Intelligent is providing and safe networking service. Hardware and software can be customized depending on customer needs incorporating services, storage, network and servers, services, and software applications to provide a smooth business transaction.

Businesses are dependent on data for making a strategic decision for future expansion and profit generation. However, the customer base is managed by data availability and integrity concerns, which must be maintained at all costs. The most organization earlier operated on In-house servers hosted within the business premises. Due to the increasing data generated through digitization, capturing, and storage processes become a common area of interest. Therefore, to keep the pace between the growing data volume and smooth business operation, most businesses are migrating to cloud computing to meet the demand.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is the new normal in most fields. Cloud computing provides endless opportunities for business intelligence. It should be identified that cloud computing encompasses the entire environment associated with business intelligence (Obrutsky, 2016). However, these significant steps and opportunities, there are several factors that are yet to be addressed. Many problems in BI are still to be solved.

These difficulties can be identified as disadvantages. Some challenges are found; however, BI technology is considered to be complicated. It is because cloud computing and business intelligence are facing demands for frequent upgrades of integrated versions (Obrutsky, 2016). Due to this, the issue of insufficient budgets become inevitable since there exist related projects which require hardware and software capacity of the resources used in the upgrades.

The economics of business intelligence is destroyed by cloud computing while using the network, hardware, security, and the software required to develop data warehouses on a pay-per-use basis or demand. As a result, cloud business intelligence interferes with the performance of a business (Kouatli, 2016). It becomes a significant type of risk to the entire industry.

Findings

Cloud business intelligence is a technology that enables a business to manage large amounts of transactions and data. However, the technology is vulnerable to the external environment. The vulnerability cannot be considered in the first instance. For a business to ensure proper optimizations, it has to take a long period to frame (Kouatli, 2016). The integration of cloud business intelligence is not suitable for small to medium business enterprises. Sophisticated technologies would hinder these businesses as they work towards strategic objectives.

Furthermore, there are diverse and suspicious impacts of cloud business intelligence. The effects of the different types of SaaS-based applications are broad too. Even though the impact in the cloud environment is disparate, they ensure customer data has minimal barriers. Through that, the entire application becomes efficient, which serves the purpose of information technology of the contemporary business (Kouatli, 2016). Consequently, a little agreement that addresses the benefits and risks of cloud business intelligence has been reached.

Conclusion

The risks concerned about the legislation have also been acknowledged. However, very little evidence regarding law violation while using the technology have been reported. Due to this, it acts as a convenient tool for strategies that entail fraud. Even though the statement is undoubtedly correct, it can be refuted since the technology can be implemented for malicious purposes. Therefore, future research should focus on the goal-setting and technical nature of cloud business intelligence.
