Public relation and self-promotion are two intertwined and related terms that describe the general relationship within an organization and how each stakeholder interact (Carpenter, 2012). Public relations refer to a practice of managing the spread of information between ad among individuals, organizations, and the public at large. Self-promotion, on the other hand, is the practice of making or attempting to address one's self as one with superb capabilities, smart and skilled. It is often done face to face through conversations or on blogs and social media (Carpenter, 2012). At this level, the two terms conjoin to refer to an activity that aims at linking different entities of organizations with stakeholders as made by personnel with self-promotion ideas.

In the recent past, dealing in public relations has been one of the targeted continuums leading to the creation of federal agencies. The public agencies have come out strongly to foster and create pleasant images and profiles befitting respectful clients online (Carpenter, 2012). These agencies float and promote clients as well as making them looks more successful, skilled, honest, and exciting to deal with as possible and people or organizations that are relevant to deal with in all spheres. The agencies, as opposed to being advertising forums, promote individuals and companies through editorial coverage.

When undertaking public relations, an individual, organization, or accompany needs to frame self promotion. This has been one of the central tenets targeted while doing self-promoting. As a self-promoting individual, one needs to find what combines one's carrier and passions, which help to frame the promotions and skills to be passed from one end to the other for online consumers. Public relations indeed have broadened the scope of interaction, making ideas disseminated with ease.

Public relations have been more about people. It denotes the ability to connect with others in a meaningful and valuable way. As well, it exemplifies mutual communication among those who interact. Lately, there has been thinking that public relations id fading until the inception of the web 2.0 agency. Much has been accomplished online-wise (Wynne, 2013).

A web 2.0 agency, therefore, is one of the cheapest ways through which people connect and build relations currently. It is understood that today people skills and capabilities stretch beyond networking events. Instead, they take time out to join the conversation, comment, read, and share a lot depending on their insights.

Web 2.0 has remained one of the prominent technologies around the world. Several companies are using this technology in immeasurable ways, including fostering innovative products within and without many companies (Wynne, 2013). One case scenario is marketing across different customer bases. Companies are selling knowledge at a cut cost while enjoying doing various businesses. It is evident that companies that improved ion the usage of this technology accrued and continues to collect more benefits.

One of the drawbacks of using web 2.0 to self-promotion is the fear of criticism. Research indicates that top managers tasked with decision making fear typically fears the procedures involved in web 2.0 technology. The concern is caused by the fact that it is risky to experiment with people likely to alter and change the traditional model of learning and teaching. Besides, the fear of security also applies (Wynne, 2013). The web 2.0 technology is generally meant for openness, and anyone can synchronize and create a profile as well as being able to scrap off data at will.
