Rights are social, ethical and legal principles of freedom. Ideally, rights are pivotal normative laws regarding what is permitted or owed to individuals depending on some legal system, moral theory, or social convention. A dilemma can be solved through the application of right by critically analyzing if at any instance one has disenfranchised another's right. If it is confirmed ones right is infringed when the person is most likely to face judgement.

The principle of justice comprises various denotations. However, it mainly rests on the fair treatment of people, equitable allocation of money, and resources. Typically, it consists of equity, equal treatment, and equality. This principle can be used to solve a dilemma by analyzing if the focal aspects that the policy relies on have been crippled (Vincent 89). The determination only comes after confirming one of its elements has been subverted which thereby leads to the application of the rule of law.

Virtue ethics is individual inclined; it examines a person moral behavior than ethical duties or the impacts of specific actions. This principle can be used to solve a dilemma by analyzing the probability of a person making a mistake and also how the person in most cases behaves.

The principle of golden rule anchors on the assertion of treating other people as one could wish to be addressed. It is mostly found in different cultures and religions. The golden rule can be regarded as ethic reciprocity in certain beliefs, although other faiths treat its opposite. This principle can be employed to solve a dilemma by an individual imagining to be the one facing the problem and comes out with conclusions on how the particular issue at hand needs to be addressed without any biasness (Vincent 95).

Regarding Alex Smith sales presentation analysis, it can be ascertained that Smith majorly lacks various fundamental ethical values. For example, by not telling the truth that at some point the phones may connect to the internet and a child can be able to access pornographic materials implies that Smith is short of truthfulness. Additionally, Smith lacks honesty. If it were me, I would be boldly and tell the retailer the truth to open room for discussions and see the way forward.

However, in the same case, I might apply the principle of utility that notes one may right if the characters result in pleasure and wrong in instance they result in pain. Noting that children are the primary purpose of the purchase of the phones and the pornographic materials will have a tremendous negative impact on them, telling the retailer the truth will be an ideal choice as the characters will lead to pain. The proposed course of action will significantly negate the firm's economic responsibilities but it will the best option depending on what ethical standards demand. Seemingly, the recommended course of action is null and void in the firm's legal responsibilities a firm does not state that a salesperson should always be telling the truth, but should say anything convincing to win customers attention. The proposed course of action does not resonate with top management; however it aligns with the needed code of conduct.
