Mental health welfare should also be a crucial concern as a poverty solution. The impacts of mental disorders have severe and far-reaching social effects. These effects include unemployment and reduced income which has a trickle-down effect to high rates of imprisonment, poor educational opportunities not forgetting to mention homelessness. Accessible and useful services such as employment opportunities, accommodation, monitored education as well as the protection of their human rights should be provided to people with mental health conditions. Conversations about mental health in most countries specifically in Africa have over the years been considered a taboo, and therefore this should be one of the most critical strategic solutions to poverty. One of the essential elements of democracy is transparency. Nations should eradicate corruption in their systems of government as well as in their operation. Most developing countries end up losing their grants due to the unaccountability as well as misappropriation of funds. There should be actively involved and fair system of monitoring of such nations to ensure that the well-deserved citizens benefit from this grants. Additionally, economic literacy of the countries' citizens should be encouraged to provide that they would be in a position to challenge as well as express dissatisfaction of those individuals responsible for corruption in their governments.
