Introduction
Customarily, politics has been a notion that has been undertaken within the borders of a country or national political system. A good example is the American political environment, under typical situations, the effects of legislative changes mostly affect the people within the border. The roles of the national government in such circumstances include the maintenance of security, the economic prosperity of the citizens, as well as the environment found within the country’s borders (Umaña-Taylor, Zeiders & Updegraff, 2013). However, after the second world war politicians came together and plotted on strategies to remove the barriers hampering trade between countries (Umaña-Taylor, Zeiders & Updegraff, 2013). Before the Second World War, trade was mainly between economically developed countries such as the U.S. and The United Kingdom. The integration of globalization into developed countries' economies increased their economic integration in specialization and economies of scale. The best example is Toyota, the Japanese company after the Second World War flourished with opened markets in the West such as America (Umaña-Taylor, Zeiders & Updegraff, 2013). In other words, globalization not only developed the economy of countries practicing it but also allowed cultures to interact, creating new social structures.
The Role of The Family in Socialization
Individual socialization is a process that begins at birth and ends after the individual has died. The lifelong process is determined by numerous factors among them are social groups with which they interact. However, the most influential social group is the family. Socially functional family units have the process of socializing regardless of the importance of the individuals in it. During the socializing process, one is expected to adhere to the cultural and social rules recognized to lead towards socially accepted values. The family unit is responsible for providing the initial behavioural patterns through both orientation and personal relationships.
Diversity in U.S. Families and Trends
The American family unit has evolved drastically from the mid-20th century to date, with the notion of two-parent households declining rapidly. As more women are becoming breadwinners for their families, the rate of divorce, remarriage, and cohabitation increase. Today families are significantly smaller compared to other generations, mainly due to the rise in single-parent households as well as drop infertility among women (Sigurdardottir, Garwick & Svavarsdottir, 2016). Families are also changing in the sense that in the 1960s, children were born after marriage, today, many women and men live single and are accountable for the four out of ten children bout out of wedlock. Marriage, as an institution, has evolved and changed the structure of the family unit. Through numerous research studies such as that by Sigurdardottir et al. (2016), specific family qualities and values, attribute to the labor, equality, and bond within the family unit (Sigurdardottir, Garwick & Svavarsdottir, 2016). The various influencers directly affect the relationship among family members, thereby attributing to divorce and remarriage. Economic downfalls are among the most common reasons for familial controversies as some families are unable to support the members.
Issues in the Education System and Factors That Affect It
In the united states and other countries, education is considered to be the primary means to higher economic and social status due to increased income and other factors. The usual assumption after attaining such information is that countries are maximizing the education system (Banks & Banks, 2016). However, it is contrary to the U.S.; education is viewed by many as the primary means of social equality. With more educated people, the country can address numerous social issues under a collective mindset. Then again, the United States has failed in multiple sectors, such as lack of diversity in schools, low funding, and overcrowding of schools just to identify a few problems (Banks & Banks, 2016). The American education system needs a complete overhaul; school districts in poor neighborhoods are among the least funded, supported, and record among the highest student populations. When viewed holistically, the education system’s efficacy is divided per the social classes in the country. The rich receive among the best quality education, whereas the members of the lower level receive a low-quality training (Banks & Banks, 2016). The identified issues mark the most significant problems facing the education sector.
Analysis of Religion in The United States
Finally, America is among the world's most diverse countries in terms of population as it has representatives from almost all ethnicities and religious groups, among other categories (Schnabel and Bock, 2017). When categorized, most of the population are Christians with a 2016 report populating theme at 71% of the American people. Islam, Buddhism, Hindu, and other world religions account for 6% of the population. 23% of the population consists of mainly unaffiliated religious organizations, Atheists, and Agnostics (Schnabel and Bock, 2017). Finally, less than one percent of the population is not aware of what religion they follow. The American people are protected by the constitution to have the freedom of any religion they deem fit. It has contributed to the diversity of the country.
