There are several ways that I have incorporated feedback on the position description into the revised version. The only part that needed revision was the role context, where I needed to explain how the role context contributes to the high-level organization goals and strategy of the InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG). The main goal of the InterContinental Hotel is to ensure that all customers receive the highest quality services and desire to come back. Consequently, the executive housekeeper will play a great role in the achievement of that goal by conducting his/her roles efficiently. The roles of the executive housekeeper will be to lead and manage different segments of the Housekeeping Department to ensure the highest standards of services provided to customers of Hotel Intercontinental. He/she will also be responsible for monitoring all housekeeping personnel to ensure customers get prompt, fast, and courteous service. He/she will inspect guest rooms regularly to ensure equipment, furnishings, and facilities are clean and working properly. He/she will also maintain open channels of communication with the general manager and the heads of other departments. He/she will also establish effective human relations and ensure the effective management of the performance of all team members. All these roles will be highly crucial since the organisational goals cannot be achieved if they are conducted efficiently.
Regarding my reflection on teamwork so far, it has been totally good. My teammates are Rrya and Max. The two are not only hardworking but also responsible and we always hold discussions on the progress of the report through Wechat weekly. Teamwork was beneficial to us. It improved our social and interpersonal relationships and it helped in promoting values such as respect, effort, and commitment amongst us. Teamwork also encouraged our learning process. Learning from what other colleagues know is one of the greatest benefits of working in a group. They build their knowledge through interaction with their peers, they process information together and have to come up with a unique solution, but in the process of this work, they acquire great knowledge. Teamwork also increased our self-esteem, motivation, and interest since creating group tasks made us autonomous and responsible. We knew that we were responsible for the group's successes and failures and therefore, more independent of their decisions. I have also learned to work in harmony with my colleagues, so it was easier to finish the task on time and much faster. If problems do arise, others can propose solutions in this regard that perhaps working individually would be more difficult to find. Teamwork increased my acquisition of knowledge and academic performance since it put us (the students at the center of learning). It also fostered respect and acceptance, empathy and self-esteem, mutual aid and solidarity by creating a sense of belonging (within the group) and a positive interdependence arising from the commitment to achieve individual and common goals. Lastly, through teamwork, my communication and dialogue improved. When working as a team, situations arise where the different parties do not agree or express different points of view. Learning to debate at this time is essential to avoid generating discussions.
