Consent
I have read and, I understood the information. I have also had the opportunity to ask questions. I know that my participation is voluntary and that I am free to leave at any time, without giving a reason. I understand that I will be given a copy of this consent form. I voluntarily agree to take part in this research.
Conclusion
According to Larson, Foe, and Lally (2015), increased length and complexity of written consent forms are barriers to participant understanding of the research. To tackle these barriers, it is crucial for the researcher to maintain the readability level of the form at an 8th grade level. Based on this and the Flesh-Kincaid results, the consent form for my research project has heeded to this requirement. From the results, children between the age of 13 and 14 years can understand it easily.
