In addition, this paper analyzes the fear held by all Black people regardless of their status quo and wealth. I will identify leaders that led to my commitment to fight against racism. Additionally, I will critically analyze the pride and pain of Black communities in the United States of America. Generally, the Asian and Latin community in America, are among the few minority groups that face the same issues as the African American society.

Black people have existed in the US as a minority group way before the revolutionary war. Also, the subgroup was introduced in the country through slavery. However, although slavery was abolished in the late 1860s, Africans began to migrate from Africa in search of greener pastures. The research on the impact of racism against the African American group was carried out in Brooklyn. I interacted with a group of twenty Black people to understand their views on the issue. The implication of this paper is to urge people to work together in the struggle against racism.

RESEARCH AS A STAKEHOLDER

I am a Black person by chance and not by choice. I was born of two Black parents and brought up in the suburbs of the city. When growing up, my parents advised me that I had to work twice as much as a white child to succeed. Similarly, they indicated that whenever I was stopped by a police officer whether driving or even just walking, I had to keep my hands where the police could see them due to the increased police shooting of young African American males. The Black community regularly encounter racism when they find themselves face-to-face with White privilege. At a young age, my ignorance spared me from noticing the ever seeming dynamic that is continuously at the play of the Black public. As I grew older, the unfathomable injustices against my community became apparent, and hence, they have led to my commitment to fight against racism. Martin Luther King Jr., Ella Baker, Rosa parks and also Malcolm X. are some of the very many activists numerous young Black people look up to. I am proud to be African American as the group comprises of beautiful and authentic individuals.

INSIGHT GAINED

I aim to advocate for equal opportunities regardless of an individual's complexion. The small group comprising of twenty African American young people debated on the numerous issues that affect them on a day to day basis. From interacting with the group, I gained various insights that will help in making an analysis. First, I got to learn that the rate of infant mortality is high among Black people. Primarily, it is as a result of increased stress among women from contact with the criminal system. Secondly, I discovered that most people knew or they had members imprisoned. The impact of racism in the justice system was depicted from the discussions held. Thirdly, I observed that most Black people have inadequate finances to facilitate most aspects of their lives. For instance, many did not have insurance covers. Furthermore, I also discovered that other factors also are contributing to the high mortality rate among the Blacks in America. They include; high poverty level, limited job opportunities, racism and lack of education.

I used various methods of data collection to gather adequate information. To begin with, I interviewed Black people in a focus group to develop a basis for my research. The group members provided invaluable information on real racism cases that have happened to them. However, I used history literature to understand the modern distribution of the subgroup. I discovered that the main reasons why Blacks are sparsely distributed in some states and densely inhabited in others were racial prejudice. To comprehend the magnitude of police brutality among African Americans, I visited several law enforcement stations. I observed that the number of lawbreakers brought into the stations was from the Black sub-race.

FUTURE RESEARCH PLANS

The research provides primary data for future studies on the effect of racism among African American communities. In the future, I would like to do further research to increase my understanding of the Black community. For instance, I would carry out a study on racism against my subgroup in other states and cities. It would provide insights on whether the level of racism is dependent on the geographical location.

Moreover, to complement my research, I would use secondary data, for example, previous studies and published journals carried out on racism against Black people. From the research, I discovered the high mortality rates of infants and women. Thus, in the future, I will focus on gender-related problems in the community. For instance, further research on the invisibility of the Black woman in politics.
