After analysing the writing, I can conclude that Sedaris was successful in delivering the aim of his writing. He made the text enjoyable to read, and this is owing to how he switched between tenses, sarcastic, descriptive, conversational, and vice versa (Sedaris, 2013). This gives the reader an in-depth understanding of what the author was going through while learning something new and that he had to perceive humor in his struggles. Mostly I appreciate the unpronounceable language that he used to describe the way the instructor talked to him, and this makes one feel like they were there with him, especially since it is hard to understand as well. His switch between tenses was a smart way to make his point clearer.
