Introduction
In his book "who is Martin Luther King Jr", Bonnie Bader tries to explain the vision of a man of God, freedom fighter, an activist and a leader of the American Negros (Martin Luther King). Martin Luther King was an African-American clergy and activist who believed that one day the African-American will get their freedom and civil rights back (Bader, and Wolf). He believed that through non-violent and persistence activism the African-American can acquire the rights and freedom they have been deprived of. Many will argue that freedom cannot be archived without violence but with the words and actions of Dr. Martin Luther King, I can argue that we can achieve freedom through non-violent protest by just having big dreams and great vision ("I Have A Dream: Celebrating The Vision Of Martin Luther King, Jr. | Edsitement").
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr had very strong leadership qualities that helped him lead the revolution that brought the freedom to American Negros by use of non-violent means and persistence activism ("The Many Qualities Of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'S Leadership | News, Sports, Jobs - The Herald-Star"). He led several protests of boycotting goods and services and leading peaceful demonstrations and he told his people that he had a dream and one day the African-American will have their freedom without necessarily having bloodshed in such of freedom. He was a courageous leader who would point the American authorities directly and tell them that what they were doing to the African-American wasn't right. He led demonstration even though he knew that the consequences of doing this were not going to be 'sweet'. He had the courage to conquer the temptation of leading a violent rebellion against the American authorities when they were being arrested and killed during demonstrations ("The Many Qualities Of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'S Leadership | News, Sports, Jobs - The Herald-Star"). Martin Luther King was a man of God who had faith and hope that one day the light will shine to Americans and they will understand the benefits of leaving together in harmony. He had hope that one day America will be one and people will have equal rights and equal job opportunities. His teachings on hope on the better tomorrow demonstrated the strength he had in his God. He was passionate and this was seen when he once exhibited great passion by going ahead and educating himself on many issues. He also demonstrated the passion for pursuing non-violent freedom when he continued with peaceful protest even after his home was bombed. He continued with civil rights fight all his life to addressing American issues ("The Many Qualities Of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'S Leadership | News, Sports, Jobs - The Herald-Star").
Martin Luther King was brought up in a family that nearly everybody was an activist. When he finished his Ph.D. in 1955 he was appointed and worked as a clergy at Dexter Street Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. This is where he started preaching freedom and how the African-American can acquire their freedom through peaceful means ("Martin Luther King Jr. [Ushistory.Org]"). When he successfully organized the bus boycott, Martin Luther King formed a Christian conferenceconference, which its aim was to push for human rights for African Negros. In the year 1963 April Martin Luther King successfully organized a great protest in Birmingham city and Alabama the city that Martin referred as the most segregated city in the whole of the United States. Many boycotts and protest were conducted as the African-American seek their freedom. Many were arrested and others were even killed when the Birmingham police department used excessive force by using dogs and fire hoses on people that were demonstrating. All this was being shown on television worldwide. Martin was arrested; his support came across the country and all over the world. Martin Luther King in 1963 delivered a speech "I have a dream" that that is being played and loved to date. After successfully attaining the civil rights in 1964, he did not back as he pursued with the registering of African American voters in the south. He was got arrested again in 1965 when he led a protest across Selma and Alabama to increase the number of voters of African-American. And again the demonstrators were bitten up and arrested by the police ("Martin Luther King Jr. [Ushistory.Org]").
For only 11-year Martin Luther King had presented more than 2500 speeches and traveled more than 6 million miles delivering freedom speech that helped solve the injustices in the United States and around the world ("Contributions"). This was very effective and African-American got their freedom and rights. And this, therefore, ensured feature equality in the country regardless of the skin color, race or religion. His method of the quest for freedom by non-violent method even when they were being brutalized from their oppressors was one of the major factors that led to the respect that he was accorded and the acknowledgment that was given to the African-American civil rights movement. This instance proved that non-violent protest and peaceful demonstration is more effective in bringing peace and harmony and coexistence of people of different race. Martin Luther King was a man of words and actions and as we have earlier stated, he formed an Organization (SCLC) that was very powerful in 1957 ("Contributions"). His major activists which include civil rights activist and the efforts that he put in against segregation of African-American in this organization contributed to freedom. The boycotts, marches, and sit-in the city of Birmingham, Washington DC helped to abolish racial discrimination in many areas in the United States. These areas included; public transport, job industries where now all Americans have equal rights to jobs, voting rights, and education. His peaceful protest on behalf of all American was able to bring progress in American society and his total desire to bring America together regardless if the difference in skin color was highly recognized as the biggest contributing factor to the unity in America and Americans uniting together as one nation. All this was due to his commitment to peace, non-violence and more so equality to everyone ("Contributions").
Conclusion
Martin Luther King has touched the lives of many people for decades now. His words and actions inspired many people in the world. He was the lover of peace and harmony and he torched many souls when he advocated for the rights of the African American and other hand respecting the rights of their oppressors by the use of non-violent means and protest in such for freedom and equality. He is the reason why many people will always argue that non-violence is the best method in the quest for freedom. His dreams and visions will always give us hope in life.
