Introduction
The employee selection strategy entails a company involving itself in matching its needs and wants to suit the employee who is applying for a particular job. This state ensures that a company improves its employee performance because it only hires those that are well suited for the job (Griffin, 2018). Also, the human resource department of a company is apparently enrolled in the recruitment and selection processes of employees to ensure that they are the best for the available job. It provides that a company saves money and time as its resources will only be used for employment purposes. In case a small business does not have a human resource department, a manager, in this case, takes up these roles.
Employee selection and recruitment allows for maximum research to be carried out concerning the testing and evaluations techniques. These are important because they help the human resource department only to recruit the employees who are best for the job descriptions. It allows a company, therefore, to benefit from the reception of the best services from all employees hence improving its businesses and earning more profits (Long, 2018). Thus, in the following report, I will offer my research findings based on the best recruitment services that various companies undertake and how this improves their company branding.
After carrying out my research on three companies, that is, Coca-Cola, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Starbucks, Coca-Cola's employer branding was the most exemplary. It is because it used the concept to motivate itself to achieve most of its primary objectives from the excellent services they gain from the employees (Simply-Communicate Ltd, 2016). I learned that they ensure to engage each employee before engaging them in full time working and this ensures that they upgrade their recruitment and selection only to have the best. This process, in years, has resulted in better employee performance since only the best are recruited.
On the other hand, I was not impressed with Kentucky Fried Chicken Company's employer branding. The company lacked proper measures and techniques in employing its workers (Angabe, 2018). For instance, they mostly advertise for the recruitment of their employees online and pick the most qualified without testing their performance first. This act has, therefore, resulted in more hiring since some of the employees turn out to be underqualified. Hence, they need to improve on their employer branding approaches and maybe ensure to use those of coca cola Company who have been quite successful in the industry. I made this choice because I felt that Coca-Cola Company was putting more effort to ensure that they only employ the best workforce who can gladly help them with the achievement of their objectives and goals.
The above research relates to the YouTube video in that the specific companies especially coca cola have tried to look into the needs of their employees so that they may have a clear indication of their type of employer brand (Randstand Group, 2016). Also, the video relates to the research in that the companies apply the best possible recruitment strategies to employ their workforce and ensure they utilize minimum resources in doing this. Their primary focus is actually to save the company's money as well as time so that more returns may be achieved successfully. This process ensures that they improve their employer brand just as the video teaches.
Coca-cola, for example, has incorporated social media to support their branding through advertisements. This process involves the use of social media platforms to advertise their recruitment services and the job vacancies that are available. They also use the social media platforms to show their skills and knowledge in human resource management, and this attracts more potential employees who apply for selection so that they may participate in improving the returns of the company (Lee, 2017). Kentucky Fried Chicken Company has also made use of social media to communicate to its potential employees who are likely to help them with the completion of their recruitment processes to improve their employer branding.
My second visit entailed Ford and Toyota Company websites whereby I was researching more about how online recruiting is carried out (Job Applications, 2018). For instance, the Ford Company uses tests for physical abilities of its employee selection so that they may have a better and more diverse workforce in the end. Also, they use the functional abilities technique to show an improvement in their decision making, and this helps them a lot. Their decision-making process is well established so far, and this state indicates that a diverse workforce is more advantageous. When recruiting, they focus more on the use of online platforms since they offer them with the best-qualified personnel.
Therefore, these companies are applying better techniques in recruiting a more diverse workforce so that they may enjoy their benefits thoroughly. For instance, they are more concerned with hiring their employees from online platforms and from all around the world so that they may take better advantage of the benefits of diversity in the workforce (Job Applications, 2018). Their recruitment also ensures that they have so many qualified employees who have different kinds of expertise and can efficiently use to make better decisions which lead to success. It is also helpful because they make use of the strengths of these different kinds of employees and at the same time improve their weaknesses to result in a healthy workforce in the end.
My third visit entailed various websites which are more concerned with certain types of recruitment which attracts more qualified personnel to apply for their jobs. Some of the significant features of these websites included executive search firms, online networking sites, and internet job boards. My two chosen online websites included Elixio and Stroome (Abdel-Halim, 2012). They both present an online networking site which provides an opportunity for many job seekers to apply for jobs from. These websites use an invite-only strategy to recruit employees externally. The reason for my classification is because the sites offer a potential employee with the chance to gain more professional connections which help them excel in their business.
Hence, these websites are quite useful to a potential candidate because they help them gain platforms through which they can send their job applications and be assured to deliver their services as required. Also, the websites make it easy for a potential employee to have the chance to connect with other professionals such as journalists, travelers, filmmakers and others (Abdel-Halim, 2012). This act directs an individual to a particular job specification that they feel they are more qualified in.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the above report represents the findings of my research conducted on some company websites and online networking sites. The main aim of the study was to find out more about employee selection and recruitment in various companies and how potential employees can access their jobs through sending their applications via the online networking websites. Hence, the research was successful as I was able to learn a few techniques of how companies ensure to employ the best-qualified personnel so that they may have gained in their business operations as well as enjoy the benefits of a diverse workforce.
