Based on the economic situations in the world today, it would be usual for one to think and believe that the number of developing countries have been declining. This notion is very wrong in that most commercials do appear in the media where one would realize that these commercials do ask for funds used in feeding the less unfortunate in such societies or even in the transport of the medical supplies to the same countries. The US government and other developed nations do spend lots of funds in aids to the developing countries such as Rwanda that is the center of discussion in this paper. The World Bank defines a developing country as the country that has some form of GNI (gross national income) of less than $ 11, 905 (Moore & Kawachi, 2017). Amazingly, these developed countries tend to concentrate on these aids at the expense of taking care of their own needs and would then lead to the development of certain ill feelings in the American economy.Malawi is considered as one of the developing countries in Africa. The small country is located within the Sub Saharan Africa. It is bestowed with many forms of interests including lakes and national parks. The country is landlocked with limited natural resources and thus relies heavily on the neighboring countries for the imports of primary commodities and fuel. It borders countries such as Mozambique. Zambia, and Tanzania. An exploration license was awarded to Surestream Petroleum to carry out operations in two blocks in the year 2011 in parts of the Rift Valley in the country. The program was based on the HIPC (heavily indebted emerging countries) initiative by both the IMF and the World Bank (Koh et al., 2017). This initiative was put in place to reduce the number of developing countries that are not in a position to manage their debts. The program has been used and approved in over 30 countries within Africa.

Healthy Population in a Country

A developing country that has a healthy population would benefit from the four major sectors of its economy. First, there is the aspect of reduced expenses incurred in preventing the diseases. When the citizens in a country stay healthy, then it would be important to note that the funds that had been set aside to be used in the vaccinations against diseases such as Polio in Malawi can be eliminated and used elsewhere. The funds can then be invested in projects aimed at producing venture in the growth regarding capital and resources (Moore & Kawachi, 2017). For instance, Malawi can concentrate on investing in sanitation, transportation, and communication infrastructures instead of directing the funds to the vaccination camps.

Second, the practice would lead to increased participation in development and research because of the increased levels of intelligence quotient in both body and mind. The citizens will then have an increased mental and physical capacity to help them focus on their interests, passions, and dreams (Gutierrez-Nieto, Serrano-Cinca & Camon-Cala, 2016). The level of concentration by the children would be increased to focus on a sound foundation on the educational development in the country.

There is also the aspect of growth in the GDP from increased productivity because of the reduced inefficiency, and absenteeism in the schools. It will also be pegged on the improved mental and physical focus on the jobs. The process then leads to the increased production and the effective utilization of the water, land, and labor resources that would help in augmenting the levels of GDP in the country. The firms in the country are in a position to provide the commodities on time and leads to the growth in the economy of the country. Finally, a healthy nation would help in the development of an educated society in the country (Acharya et al., 2017). This notion is based on the fact that once parents are healthy and are in a position to go to work, then their children would have the chance to attend schools and eventually become very useful and resourceful adults in the society with varied and better opportunities.

Leadership and Foreign Aids

Foreign aid in most developing countries is a complex and controversial topic. There is a problem in the process and manner of tracking the external grants to help in the ensuring that these funds are directed to the right projects. The government in Malawi has established a goal that would provide easy access to basic health. The country has a high rate of HIV/AIDS prevalence of over 10%. Child mortality rests at 110 per 1000 births with a maternal mortality rate of 760 per 100, 000 births (Bharmal et al., 2015). Aids provided by the American government seems to be inappropriate use primarily in the health improvement and the increased access to the quality care in the country. The US aid is also being utilized as a preventive measure for the malaria scourge. It also helps in the teaching of the family planning, nutrition, and the reproductive health in the country. The current population in Malawi rests at 15 million and is expected to triple this number by the year 2040. A good percentage of the citizens in the country still live below the poverty line.
