The basic necessity of having an influential culture in the organization and a responsible manager to lead the employees is to show the importance of professionalism as well as developing a business environment that is based on respect, trust, and support among the employees. In developing a culture of support, respect, and trust, some steps need to be followed.
Create an environment that is guided by a vision. Every organization's vision is governed by the culture and values that are effective in business. A proactive leader usually maintains a vision. The leaders, through the help of the vision, develop a culture that will sync ethics and values that will act according to the vision.
Learn to listen to each other despite the level. Some managers in the organization make the mistake of not listening to what the juniors have to say. They assume that the employees are there only to be guided and commanded to perform their roles, and that's where the distrust and disrespect begins (Moore et al, 2016). Every member of the organization should be respected and allowed to raise their opinions.
The other important thing in developing the culture is communicating. Communication is a significant activity that takes place in an organization. People have to communicate to push the process further (Afsar et al, 2019). For communication to be effective, people must learn to use the best language that is respectful to the people in that organization.
The other major step is giving the employees time to instill the values in their minds. The teaching has to be set in place to make it part of reality. Teaching them the benefits will also give a chance to the managers to learn and lead by example. The exercise can be carried out either in formal or informal ways.
After the leaders have gained their trust from the employees, the managers can use that chance to make decisions concerning trust and respect in the workplace. Once their leaders give the employees the directives, they will have no choice rather than following them since they trust them.
Conclusion
Lack of a culture that embraces trust and respect in the workplace may cause the firm to incur losses. Also, the managers should ensure that they are friendly to employees so that they can feel free to talk to them in case of a concern or a situation that needs to be addressed. Also, when there are respect and trust among the staff members, they can embrace teamwork. All organizations should advocate for teamwork that can only be brought about by trust and respect among the staff members.
