Personal Beliefs about Nursing

Based on my experience with nursing, I believe it is a profession practiced in the healthcare sectors and serves to provide care to clients during their recovery period. Also, it ensures that clients maintain a high quality of life. Therefore, nursing entails responsibilities such as providing care, administering medicine to patients, monitoring health progress, and educating the client on ways of dealing with their conditions. However, nursing aims to meet the need for different clients. They include patients on the path of recovery, the elderly, and the community. These clients can be attended at their location of convenience. Some receive services within the hospital treatment while others prefer home attention. For example, a patient undergoing rehabilitation after a major surgery may request for the nurse to attend their needs while at home.

However, given the expectation from the profession of nursing, I believe practitioners should exhibit specific values for successful service delivery. Firstly, individual practicing the profession show empathy and compassion to the clients. Since they provide care, the nurse should know, understand and accept the feelings of their clients which can only be possible being compassionate. Secondly, practitioners in nursing should show a high level of professionalism in their relationship with their clients. In this regard, practitioners should ensure that they maintain clients' privacy and confidentiality. Such a move aid in creating a strong relationship with the clients, thus leading to the best health outcomes. Aside from exhibiting good values, collaboration with service providers is necessary to deliver the best medical outcomes. Nurses require the supporting physician regarding the decision on the right medication. Also, they require the input of another professional during emergency beyond their jurisdiction. For example, when the client suffers a sudden heart attack, the nurse will seek the guidance of a specialist in that condition.

Motivation and goals for Decision on Nursing as a Career

My decision to settle on nursing was informed by the desire to improve the health status of society. Currently, there is a shortage of nurses which has led to an increased mortality rate. Therefore, by joining the profession, I will save the lives of those in need of after treatment care. However, my objective is not to saves the lives alone but also study the pattern of common health condition and develop a plan to tackle them effectively. Also, joining the nursing profession will aid the realizing my goal of offering care to victims of the humanitarian crisis.

Success Factors for the Nursing Profession

I will ensure a successful nursing profession by undertaking specific roles and responsibility. Firstly, I will encourage the client to be pessimistic about the medical outcome. I will ensure such by using positive words and reminding them of the success. Secondly, I will ensure that clients take their medication and therapies as prescribed by the doctor. Finally, I will track the progress of recovery to identify any form of setback. However, to perform those roles effectively, I will resort to proper communication by employing enhancers and avoiding blockers. Also, I will be compassionate and kind to the client during our interactions. Such a move will motivate the client to develop a positive attitude and collaborate in the treatment process. The client will be willing to take medication without fail and share their progress on the process. Finally, I will rely on my academic experience to ensure outstanding services. My academic preparation will be key in providing the recommended treatment. I will be able to administer the right dosage and offer advice to the client on healthy living.

In conclusion, nursing refer to the medical care offered to different category of clients and requires certain such as empathy, professionalism, and compassion to generate positive outcome. However, for superior, nursing should ensure collaboration from other professional. My decision to join nursing career was informed by desire to improve health status and I believe that through outstanding practice accompanied by professional preparation, I will deliver the best care.
