Introduction
Nuclear energy refers to the power that is renewable and whose source and fuel is able to regenerate and to replenish itself indefinitely. There are majorly five sources of renewable energy sources that are used including; wind, solar, biomass, geothermal and the hydroelectric power. Nuclear energy, on the other hand, is the energy that is produced as a result of the fusion of atoms that in the long run produce heat. The element that is involved are radioactive, and they undergo nuclear fusion to break their particles in a way that generates much heat that is as a result tapped and transformed for use in the industries and in the homes to facilitate the various process (Gupta, 2018). The nuclear energy is considered the best energy source over the other sources for the reasons that are as follows:
-
It is clean source of energy
The production of nuclear power as a whole process produces limited amounts of greenhouse gas (carbon). As a result of this the nuclear energy contributes least to global warming, and hence it is less destructive to the environment. This reduces the pollution that is emanating from the industries since the form that is produced does not require to go through combustion again to produce power rather a transducer is used to transform the energy to run the plants it is required to run for production.
-
Its technology is readily available
The techniques that are required to generate the power are already in place and does not have to be developed again. This is the whole sense makes it cheap to produce this type of energy since there are no much resources that are required to be invested in the same technological improvising for the production of this clean energy. This as well makes this energy reliable.
-
It generates high amounts of energy
The number of energy that is produced by nuclear power is high as a result of the fusion of the atoms that produce much energy that is tapped for use. One single plant produces much energy, and hence it is considered sufficient, and resource saving since it replenishes by itself and just little of the element is required to provide the electric power that serves a larger population as compared to the other sources of energy making it the best of them (Kapitonov & Voloshin, 2017).
-
It is a reliable source of energy
When the plant that produces nuclear energy is functioning properly, it is able to run for 540 days without interruptions. This is so because the whole process of nuclear power production is not affected by the changes in the atmospheric conditions like other sources like the geothermal power generation that is directly affected by the weather (Gozgor & Demir, 2017). The power is therefore stable since it is also not contingent of the foreign supplies but have all at once for the whole process to take place.
-
It cheap
There is less amount of uranium that is required to produce the same amounts of energy as coal or the oil. This lowers the cost of production of energy. The price of uranium is as well cheap, and this is constructive to the economy since when the cost of power is cheap, then the general cost of living will be low due to low cost in production cut down by the cheap power source (Kapitonov & Voloshin, 2017).
