Introduction
A role model is the person we adore. They are heroes and champions of life, who we aspire our lives to be like (Vinales, 2015). This paper describes my mother as my role model. Mothers are amazing humans. They stand by their families and ensures that they are shown, love.
My mother's name is Mary; she is a mother of two daughters and a boy. She lost her mother when she was a kid and had to struggle with their father who according to her stories, was very hard on them. My mother is the only daughter in their family and had to learn to adjust her life among three boys. Despite everything, she overcame all the challenges and grew up to be a great woman who has raised an amazing family. I consider her more of a friend and an inspiration because her actions give me hopes makes me see my barriers as my stepping stone every day. She is a woman of courage as she was able to take care of my siblings and me during times of crises. There was a time when my father was away in a different country working. There were months he could not communicate and even send us enough money to pay for the bills. The love of our mother and the little that she earned as a kindergarten teacher made us live the days well. She helped us not only with the assignments and the house chores but also with advises and on becoming neat and presentable. She could take time to ensure that we caught the earliest bus to school. My mother attended all the school hearings and never scolded me for bad grades or my mistakes. Her gentleness made me guilty, and I could vow to work harder next time and make her proud.
Times have passed now; I have grown old, and the words she always tells me are words that ignite my desires. She tells me to overlook people's negative opinions. Life has had its challenges like making career choices, getting money, and balancing studies and relationships. Her advice concerning this issue is that there is nothing like a quiet life, and I should face battles with courage and enthusiasm. Her word makes me feel grateful for having such a mother who is concerned and loving.
She is my icon of humility, courage, and respect. She has changed my personality, and I have grown to get along with people even when there are a lot of differences. My mother is a Christian, and her influence has made me live with a sense of gratitude. She is currently a leader at a women's' guild at our local township. She teaches me the art of responsibility and leadership.
Conclusion
In conclusion, my mother is special to me. As the former president George Washington once said that he owed all to his mother, I owe my mother a lot of respect. I desire to have friends like her, a family like her own and also live a good life guided by virtues like her own. I strive to make her proud one day. I know that nothing will ever be enough to repay her. For those reasons I can proudly confess that my mother is my role model.
