The book is a consideration of among the essential figures in the second generation during the poets of English Romantic. John Keats was born on Halloween in the year 1795, and he lived a very short life as he died of tuberculosis only when he was twenty-five years. Keats stated on an apprenticeship in 1884, with Thomas Hammond, who was a surgeon and apothecary and by 1816, Keats had gained his license on apothecary, and it allowed him to start practicing medicine. However, the passion of Keats was with poetry and not medicine, and in 1816, he decided to be a poet. Though Keat lived a very short life, he was able to write lots of poems, and his recognition is mostly in the quality of the Odes, recognized because of the application of sensual imagery.

The Odes are usually six in number, and they were composed in 1819 by John Keats, and they are among the most recognized poems he wrote. The Odes are said to have been an effort by Keats to compose a short lyrical poem, and it influenced later generations which were able to achieve the impact. Each poem was different from the other in structure as well as the message they had. "To Autumn" for example, is a poem that had three stanzas of eleven lines each, making 33 lines in total. The poem is a discussion of the way autumn was both a force of growth as well as maturation, thus describing the theme of death. What the poems had, in general, was the idea of death, since Keats felt that he was nearing his time due to the health condition.
