Introduction

The Mathematics concepts we are learning now are not new. I remember learning some of the ideas previously in high school. For instance, in school, teachers taught about calculus and algebra though it was not deeply taught as it is currently done. The calculus topic was a mind-opening, especially in the differentiation and integration calculations. It was eye-opening how differentiation and integration can be applied in real-life scenarios and, hence, predict particular cases. Besides, it was also important to note that the government uses calculus in predicting and estimating budgetary allocations. I forgot a fundamental rule at the start, which states that a two-function sum limit is equal to their sum limits. After remembering some of the concepts that I was taught in high school, I zipped through the assignment with little or no difficulty. Necessarily, the basic concepts that were taught in high school are essential, and through them, I was able to complete the assignment efficiently. After remembering the calculus rules, I was good to go with the rest of the tasks. I tried out the different learning aids in MML, and my favorite tool was viewing an example. Using examples to complete my assignment was of great help because looking at an assignment keenly, I can remember where the previous concepts were applied and complete them efficiently. Therefore, I believe that my prior knowledge and skills of the current concepts played a significant role in making me informed.

The topics in this course that will build in my previously learned skills include algebra, graphs, and limits. The process of identifying limits as a concept in calculus was of equal importance to me. Limits as values of functions as functions approach a specific sequence proved to be a useful tool in general mathematical analysis. Limits helped me understand how specific functions tend to behave when approaching certain points. I found limits interesting as they formed the basis of my calculus understanding. My high school teacher made me love mathematics. He gave me the confidence I needed to achieve my dreams. Also, he told me to go to an advanced algebra class in high school since he had seen some potential in me. Joining the class made math easy for me, and I appreciate him. I started loving Math in primary school. There was this specific incident that changed my view of Math. A teacher asked a question in class, and since I was, I don't care student type, I gave the wrong answer, and everyone in the class laughed. I felt ashamed since it was a simple computation, and that evening I commenced going through my textbook, and learning about different concepts that I found out was easy. From that day, my attitude toward math changed. I have employed calculus in my parent's business, which has helped me identify optimal sales. The mathematic definition of limit is different from that of real-life, and I found that it is challenging to compute the derivative of difficult motions in real-life scenarios.
