The first lesson from the story is that life is full of challenges and it is the role of humans to overcome such problems. Lily lives with both her parents, but still, she has to undergo many challenges in life-based on her parent's present condition. She is raised from a humble family where there are several challenges that she has to overcome. She is such an academic achiever when she attends Catholic school.
