Introduction

The sacrifice of individuals for the sake of the world may be seen as an act of oppression since it results to negative consequences as reflected in the Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley. The sacrifice is not worth paying because individuals are striving for social stability but fail to achieve substantive outcomes. For example, the Huxley is seen in a fictional of the world where a man is dehumanized to achieve community interest, stability, and identity. According to the Brave New World novel, to attain the state of social balance in society, there must be a loss of individuality or the occurrence of Mother Nature. Therefore the essay is against the sacrifices of the citizens in the world as is not worth paying as it opposes the statement of Mustapha Mond which says sacrificing real emotions and feelings attachments is the price the community has to pay for its stability (Parrinder and Patrick 102).

The Role of the Government in Educating and Creating Opportunities

The citizens should not sacrifice themselves to obtain social stability in the society but the government should educate them the importance of emulating the change if it is beneficial. In real life today, the government should not determine how many children a person need since it is an individual choice thus it is supposed to create more job opportunities and attract more investors to boost the economy. Society indeed gives us personal individualism and a sense of belonging. However, the identity of the motto in New Brave World is to regulate the overpopulation, growth, and birth to sustain community stability. For instance, the process of creating individuals was conditioning as seen where Director says that it takes thirty years in nature for two hundred eggs to reach into maturity. Hence, to control individual growth brings regional balance by offering solutions to starvation, unemployment, maternal mortality, and economic stability (Nelson-Pallmeyer and Jack 82). Also, the government uses strategies to dominate the society motto, for example, from the novel, "individuals are not born but created through the process of hypnopaedic conditioning.

Emotions, Individual Differences, and Attaining Stability and Happiness

Secondly, attaining stability and happiness depends on how a person is capable of controlling his/her emotions and the ability to eradicate poverty. The government needs to introduce measures that will eliminate individual differences to balance society. However, as reflected in the Brave New World, for people to establish and balance the world, they must pay the price in exchange for happiness. For example, Huxley brings the concept of social conflicts between true happiness and the struggle among individuals who intends to achieve it since they have rejected things like new ideas, human emotions, and knowledge. The government has banned all essential elements that could make one think, feel, and learn to avoid individual thinking, unhappiness, and instability within the society. Besides, the conversation of John and Mustapha Mond revealed how some things like science, art, freedom, and religion had been sacrificed to attain happiness where one can live socially stable in the community. It means that the world society is an excellent example of persons sacrificing for their happiness. Throughout the novel, we realize that society has to give up many things to promote its satisfaction and stability. Hence, people have been manipulated to the extent of believing that establishing one connection, feeling emotions, and having various ideas and views are the most terrible and evil things in the world.

Finally, the sacrifice of the citizens in the world is not worth paying because denying yourself the freedom may not bring the substantive change since some individuals will eventually act on the contrary a situation which may result to personal blame and hatred. As seen in the Brave New World, John sacrifices his freedom to achieve true happiness, which is based on his desire and truth to stand up with the feelings of individuals without minding the repercussions. It is shown when the Controller convinces John that science, art, and religion are not worth since they may cause suffering and instability to the world. But Mustapha leads people on the contrary to John expectation being governed by ideas, learned values, and knowledge. The contradiction Irritate John and regret why he is living in a fake society where people are oppressed and denied freedom.

Total Sacrifice for a Stable World: The Role of Individuals and the Government

However, to achieve a stable world, it needs a total sacrifice among the individuals as well as the government to work towards stabilizing the community. The government has a right to control all essential things practiced within the society like overpopulation to avoid the cases of unemployment, poverty, and economic stagnation. Also, in the New Brave World novel, the government denied ideas and questions that would lead to social instability as shown where Mustapha is seen as a problem to the community and asked whether to stay in the island and become isolated or world controller. Also, people can pay the price to ensure others are living well in the case with Mond where he justifies that he had to sacrifice to bring wellbeing and harmony in the society (Zigler and Ronald 13).

Conclusion

To sum up, the sacrifice of the citizens is not worth paying because everyone has a desire to live happy and satisfied. Once one sacrifice for the sake of the world he or she alone cannot bring substantive results but eventually loses individuality, personality, friendship, independence, interests, beliefs, and even choices a scenario which results to blame. However, the government has a responsibility to bring social stability within a society as seen in Brave New World, where it regulates overpopulations to ensure people are living productive, happy, and compliant. But, in some cases, people should work closely with the government to ensure social stability, which leads to balance within a society, thus eradicating individual differences.
